"Yoel did a very good job on my Concrete floors to prep them for Vinyl flooring. He was there to do the job when he said he would be there and is very conscientious about satisfying his customers. Thanks again for a job well done."

"The concrete job was done right and expertly. Everything I asked for was completed. Cleaned up and where grass was disturbed, straw was used to encourge regrowth. They are professionals."

"I got three estimates for my concrete project. Patio, walkway and stairs. I chose Adam Brown with Exterior Innovations because I liked the way he answered my questions. He was very knowledgeable and he also seemed to know exactly what I wanted. He was more willing to work with me on the price too. Once I did hire him I was very impressed with his professionalism. Prompt, hard working and very honest. I would definitely recommend him to others and I plan on hiring him again for other projects around my home."

"I could not be happier with the work that D&J Construction has done for me. I contacted D&J to inquire about a concrete floor for a pole barn and that turned into a real partnership to not only do that, but Sandy also put a huge amount of effort into helping me find a builder for the pole barn itself. Both Jim and Sandy have been terrific to work with. The work itself is high quality, costs are very fair and Jim is completely transparent as costs are incurred. As the work progressed, the communication was outstanding. And as complications with the overall project occurred, Jim was a great partner to help me resolve those. For example, I found that I really needed to add a driveway to get to the new pole barn. Within about an hour Jim had a plan and schedule to get that done and delivered on it the next day."

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

Visible cracks, scaling, flaking, and uneven surfaces indicate a bad concrete job. Additional signs vary depending on the project. You may notice poor drainage or even exposed rebar. Quality issues result from using the wrong concrete, rushing the work, or inexperienced workers completing the job.

You can apply an exposed aggregate finish to existing traditional concrete, but you’ll need to resurface the concrete and include aggregate in the top layer of concrete. You’ll also need to prepare the surface beforehand to ensure a good bond between the materials. Adding exposed aggregate is a job best handled by a concrete professional.

DIY repair is possible for minor cracks or small areas, often through patching. For a durable, properly leveled, and seamless finish, professional repair or resurfacing is recommended.

Yes, thicker concrete is less likely to crack. The thicker the concrete is, the less susceptible it is to extreme changes in weather conditions that often cause concrete to crack or chip. If you’re unable to install a thicker concrete driveway for any reason, you can also ask your professional to install more rebar or wire mesh to provide greater strength and better resilience to damage.

In almost all cases, yes, a damaged concrete driveway can be repaired, and the repair cost will be more affordable than a full replacement. Even major damage, like a sinking section of concrete, can be repaired by a professional using mudjacking or polyurethane concrete lifting and will average about half of the cost of a new driveway.
