Repairs typically take a few hours to a day, depending on the extent of the damage, the drying time needed for adhesives or grout, and material availability.

Solvents dissolve tile adhesive, but the right solvent for the job depends on what type of adhesive you are trying to remove. For instance, dispersion adhesive requires stronger removers, like bile soap or even paint stripper, but some adhesives, like cement-based products, can come off with water and soap or mortar remover.

You can take a sample of your existing grout to your local hardware store and ask them to match the color. For the most accurate results, choose a sample that hasn’t been discolored from wear and tear. You can also try to clean the floor tile grout to get it closer to its original color.

If you've got problems with your grout, consider using caulking to repair it in some cases (or as a supplement). Caulk is more flexible and doesn't dry as hard as grout.

If you have cracks in your grout, a simple fix could be to use some caulking to fill those cracks in. Use a grout or rotary saw to get all the cracked grout out, and then just caulk the cracks in and smooth it over. You'll need to let the caulk cure for 48 hours to ensure it has properly set.

Porcelain countertops have a fairly long life span, sometimes lasting for decades. Depending on how much wear and tear you put your countertops through, it could last 25 to 50 years. But be warned, porcelain is also prone to cracking, so as long as you take good care of it, you’ll have those countertops looking brand new for years to come.
