"Charged 7000$. Had to come back 7 times in a year. Third time said the problem was duct work. Added a crossover duct and charged us. Fourth time said it was duct work, fixed condensation running out in the floor and changed the fan motor. Charged us again. On the 6th attempt said it was duct work and gave us a 1200$ bid. 7th time Air wouldn't come on in the spring. Fixed the problem and said it wasn't cooling right and said it was duct work. Gave us a 2000$ bid. Was supposed to come back Monday and repair the duct work. Still hasn't come back."

The thickness of floor insulation will depend on the R-value you plan to achieve. R-value varies on the type of material as well as its thickness and density. Insulation materials with low R-values can be layered to match the value of denser materials. As long as your floor insulation is packed tightly, seals the area from drafts, and doesn’t prevent ventilation, it can be as thick (or thin) as you need.
