"Paul and Brandon (father and son) from Dynamic Stucco worked on my ceiling which had humidity damage from the just installed jacuzzi. The tape in the ceiling, including nails that had been used were coming apart and the ceiling was threatening to fall down. Paul, assessed the situation and said he could do the job and I wouldn’t be able to tell where the work had been done. He also used screws to ensure the drywall was securely fastened so further damage would not be possible. Also, he mentioned my the area would be cleaned to spotless condition. "Over a period of approximately 3 weeks, water-damaged, drop ceiling tiles, drywall/insulation and carpeting was removed from a basement bedroom following a leak in a water pipe in the ceiling. They treated the studs to remove mold and left a dehumidifier/ large fans to dry out the studs and floor. Installed new insulation and drywall, new ceiling tiles, then painted entire room. Carpet was re-installed in the bedroom and stairwell so carpet would match throughout. The work performed was excellent and personnel were courteous. Besides having some issues with the personnel arriving when scheduled to arrive, we were very satisfied with the whole experience. "

The time it takes for thinset to dry is determined by your room’s ambient temperature and humidity levels. Assuming the average humidity level is around 40% with an average temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, thinset can dry within 48 hours. Lower temperatures and higher humidity can extend the curing process beyond 72 hours, while high heat and zero humidity can shorten the curing process. However, thinset can crack if it dries too fast.
If you plan on heating your garage, you must install a vapor barrier when drywalling the garage. A vapor barrier protects your garage from frost and mold that can occur through condensation. If your garage is unheated, you don't need to install a vapor barrier. The only exception is if you regularly crank the heat in your car before getting in it. In this case, you may still want to install a vapor barrier, as your car can heat your garage.
Choose a drill bit that is the size of the screws of the anchors you will use. You aren’t drilling through metal or concrete—hopefully—so any standard twist, wooden or all-purpose drill bit will work fine. It’s also important to have a screwdriver capable of drilling through the drywall and into the stud. The good news is most available drills, even the older ones, can do this with no issue.
The easiest way to tell if a wall is load bearing is to check if it’s an exterior wall or if it runs perpendicular to the joists above and below it (or parallel to beams). Exterior walls are almost always load-bearing, and walls that run under beams or parallel to them are also usually load-bearing. If you’re unsure, hire a structural engineer to look at your home to assess whether or not the wall is structural.
