"Very responsive during the vetting and quoting process. Answered questions and thoroughly discussed alternative approaches to the problems with my 45 year old chimney. Kept me informed of material and equipment orders prior to work commencement. Had to deal with intervals of inclement weather through the majority of the job and made good use of intervals between rains. They are professional, great to deal with, and do quality work. I would recommend them to anyone needing masonry work."

"Henry does a great job sealing our driveway! We’ve used him several times over the years and have always been happy with his work. He’s dependable, does quality work, and is easy to work with. It’s nice having someone you can trust and call back whenever the driveway needs to be done. Would definitely recommend to anyone!!"

"The deck is beautiful and well constructed. In addition to building the deck, Bobby, the owner, designed and installed custom gates with aluminum spindles for my back yard entrances. He also advised on landscaping the area with a different variety of bushes and trees. Making sure the deck lasts is a priority for Precision Services, so I was told how to treat and protect the deck wood. Not that I really need to know that information, because I plan to contact them for the job when the time comes. Overall, my family and I are very pleased with the quality of work done by Precision Services. If there was an issue, they fixed it immediately. They were very professional and polite workers. I would definitely recommend them for anyone looking for work to be done in and around their home."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

There’s no single best asphalt grade—it all comes down to where and how it’s used. Highways and heavy-traffic roads need something tough, like polymer-modified asphalt (PMA) or Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA). Local roads and parking lots rely on the Performance Graded (PG) system, chosen based on climate. A PG 64-28 mix, for example, handles a broad temperature range while simpler, more cost-effective mixes are typically enough for residential driveways. The best grade of asphalt depends on traffic, weather, and your budget, which is why a professional’s input is always a smart move before making a decision.

Asphalt, which is stone mixed with tar, is the most common material for outdoor basketball courts because it’s so sturdy and versatile. However, you don't have to use it: another option is polymeric rubber, which has shock pads that can prevent injury. This option is a little more expensive, ranging between $16 and $25 per square foot.

Materials used for indoor basketball courts, such as hardwoods, aren’t really an option outdoors.

While paving a driveway is possible to do as a DIY project, we don’t recommend it. Hiring a driveway professional to pave it will ensure that your driveway looks neat and clean and lasts for years to come, and it will also prevent a weak driveway and, potentially, damage to your foundation. Paving a driveway requires heavy machinery, and while you can rent the equipment needed, operating it close to your garage slab or around your home’s foundation can crack it and lead to structural issues.

You should place a layer of thick landscaping fabric directly over the concrete slab and then a thin layer of leveling sand over that to protect the pavers from moisture. For border pavers, you should plan on locking them in place with polyurethane adhesive. This will prevent them from shifting under foot traffic.

While it may be less expensive initially to lay concrete vs. pavers, the long-term expenses that come with repairing concrete may prove to be less cost-friendly than simply replacing a few damaged pavers. On top of that, stamped concrete may only last for 25 years compared to pavers, which can last over 50 years.
