On April 30th (approx. 3 weeks after I called), I got an email saying they got my message and were sorry about the late reply. Unfortunately, there was a death in the family so I understood their delay in getting back to me. But by this point, they allegedly had a huge backlog so couldn't schedule my service for nearly another month - May 22nd. My appointment start time was between 8-9am - I spoke with the owner, Cat Barber, during scheduling. Then on May 21st - the day before the appointment - at nearly 6pm they sent me a "confirmation" email confirming the appointment start time for 11am-12pm. I sent them an reply late that evening explaining that I could not be home during that time, as I already made prior arrangements based on the correct appointment time. I did, however, say that if they could start later - at 1pm or thereafter - then I could be home. No response. "Okay," I thought, "it's a mom & pop shop and they messed up a little, no big deal." Right? Well, the couldn't reschedule for another two weeks!! Then, when the next appointment came around, on June 6th, they contacted me on the day of the appointment to cancel due to "widespread rain i [my] area." Gah!!! Okay, fine. I mean, at this point it has been more than two months since I paid for their services IN FULL. But, okay. Let's try this again. So they couldn't reschedule for ANOTHER ELEVEN DAYS!! Does that happen every time it rains? Do they not build in "rain days" to catch up when there's rain (assuming rain is even a valid excuse)? Anyway, the next appointment was scheduled for June 17th. A few days prior to that, I unfortunately had to reschedule because of a home repair emergency. The next available appointment was MORE THAN TWO WEEKS LATER?!! I called them days in advance to reschedule and after all their delays and excuses the best they could do was this? So, they FINALLY showed up on July 3rd - more than three months after I paid for their services in full - and the guy says, "Oh, sorry we don't do townhouses." There was NOTHING in their coupon advertisement or their Angie's List listing that indicated that at all. Nothing. Do NOT do business with this company. Their real name should be NOTHING BUT EXCUSES. I can't believe they're still in business.
UPDATED TO RESPOND TO PROVIDER RESPONSE: To all readers of this review, the Provider Response below is chock full of inaccuracies and more EXCUSES. This reinforces my advice to not do business with them. To wit:
I did not say to the owner that I would "destroy them" on Angie's List if they didn't complete the window job. First, it was NOT the owner who came to my house. Indeed, the man who came to my house said that he would tell the "OWNER" to expedite my refund. I still haven't received my refund (11 days later); and indeed had to fill out a form with Angie's List to BEGIN the process. The man who came to my house said that I would "receive a call from Angie's List" THAT DAY regarding my refund. I never received a call. Second, I said that I would give them a terrible review on Angie's List because of the ridiculous way they handled my job order. I specifically said to him that I was NOT asking them to complete the job due to their EXCUSE that they didn't have insurance for multi-story homes.
As all members of Angie's List are aware, you can have multiple addresses for your Angie's List account. I also have a Kentucky address but my PRIMARY ADDRESS IS DALLAS. To say that I should "update [my] information" on Angie's List is misleading at best.
The assertion that there was only a "one day" delay in responding to me due to a death in the family is simply untrue. I don't know if it is purposefully misleading or they just don't have their facts straight. But my timeline of events is correct. Theirs is woefully incomplete.
Most importantly, to say that they had a "disclaimer" that specified that they did not offer their special for townhomes is just NOT TRUE. I checked and re-checked and re-re-checked their coupon advertisement and there was no such disclaimer. Because of this gross misrepresentation I believe this amounts to bad business practice to such a degree that I will now file a formal complaint with the Dallas Better Business Bureau.

Gravel Driveway Repair reviews from real Angi homeowners in Harlan, KY
We recently bought our home, and the home inspector completely missed that the roof was in utter disrepair. We literally had a leak not 8 hours after closing. We took several bids for a new roof from different roofing companies. After speaking with Jack, the owner I was sold on Carlon. He is...

Mike thoughtfully designed a new fountain. He and his men rebuilt a fountain. He then provided rock and labor to re-gravel the surrounding paths. On time and came in under the bid!

"David Shephard and his employees installed 2 walkways, a garbage pad and a 35’ x 18’ driveway. His price was less than other contractors bidding on the job. The work was completed satisfactorily on 08/17/2017. We noticed a crack all the way across (18’) the driveway in January 2018. I informed David. After 5 calls, 2 text messages, and 2 visits, he said that section of the driveway would be replaced. Sad to say nothing was done in 2018. He always had a reason; weather, his schedule, his personal problems. I turned the communication over to my husband in 2019. He was called 4 times. On the 4th call on 07/11/2019 David said he had been here to look at the crack again. Don’t know why he didn’t let us know when he came so we could all discuss; or why he didn’t call afterward; or why he needed to see it again. The city had been working on the streets the last time he was here and he said the city probably caused the crack. No David, this is 2019, not 2018 when the crack occurred. By this time we were very frustrated. David didn’t want to be bothered by us or our problem any longer. He stated that concrete cracks. We realize that but within 4 months? He said we were pests. Huh, go figure!! Do your job and honor the contract and you’ll never hear from us again. We asked him to at least fill the crack if he wasn’t going to replace that section. He told us we could buy patch at home improvement stores & repair it ourselves. We originally replaced the driveway due to cracks and now we’re having to live with one which is only getting worse. What good is a 3 year warranty if the contractor doesn’t honor it?? David didn’t even honor the contract for a problem that occurred within the first 5 months. You’re only as good as your word and sorry to say his word is useless."

FAQs for gravel driveway repair projects in Harlan, KY
The average cost of a gravel driveway is about $1.25 to $2 per square foot, including the cost of materials, equipment, and professional installation. For example, a 16-by-30-foot driveway costs about $1,500. Cost factors include the type of gravel, how thick the gravel is installed, the condition of the landscape, and labor costs. Overall costs will vary depending on where you live and how accessible the job site is.
Concrete can crack from general wear, improper installation, or in response to uneven support from the soil underneath. Small, thin cracks on the surface of aging concrete are usually a result of normal wear and tear, while cracks on new concrete more likely indicate a problem with installation. Larger cracks or uneven steps can signify a much more severe issue. A concrete contractor should be able to diagnose the cause and repair concrete cracks for you.
The cost to install a concrete driveway is $4 to $15per square foot on average. Your price heavily depends on your desired concrete finish and driveway size.
For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay an average cost of $1,900. For a driveway at double that size (400 square feet), the average price is closer to $3,800. Plain concrete is significantly more cost-effective, averaging $7 per square foot, whereas stained concrete averages around $19 per square foot.
The cost of resurfacing concrete is $6 per square foot on average, though that cost can range from $3 to $9per square foot.
For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay $600 to $1,800, and for a driveway that is 500 square feet, that cost averages $1,500 to $4,500. Resurfacing your driveway will give you the look and feel of a new surface without the hefty cost.
A gravel driveway should be at least 4 to 6 inches deep, depending on the soil it’s installed on. Softer soil that doesn’t drain well should have a deeper gravel driveway. Deeper gravel will mean you spend more on materials and labor, but you’ll get a more stable driveway and avoid damage that needs to be filled or graded flat again.
