If you have a smooth, already bonded concrete surface, painting a concrete pool deck can be a great way to brighten up the area and add longevity. If the surface has another covering or a different type of paint has been used previously, you won’t be able to paint it without removing the existing coating. Completely refreshing the water in an aboveground pool every five to seven years helps keep it free of bacteria and algae. How often you should add water to your pool depends on how quickly the water evaporates. Keep an eye on your skimmer box, if you have one. Top up the water in your pool if you notice the water levels are lower than the bottom third of your skimmer. This helps prevent damage to your pump.

Just a few degrees of cooling can make your swim feel more refreshing and allow you to use fewer pool chemicals by slowing down the growth of algae. You might not need a pool chiller if you live in a climate in which temperatures tend to dip at night.
