"Aaron and his crew show up every week to maintain lawn and beds. They are efficient and very detailed in their work, never missing the areas that really need to be of focus on that piticular visit. His attention to detail has led us to hire him for other services beyond the regular lawn maintenance such as pruning and some plantings. Come Spring I look forward to hiring him for some other projects we have in mind aside from his regular maintenance visits. There are several ways to kill poison ivy permanently. The trick is to keep it from coming back. Herbicides and natural remedies are highly effective for killing existing poison ivy plants. However, plant and root parts left behind can easily create new sprouts that turn into full-grown plants. The only way to permanently get rid of poison ivy is to be patient and diligent until all traces of the plant are dead and gone.

Buffalo grass is not a dense grass, so weeds can grow between the buffalo grass plants. However, as long as you don’t overwater your lawn, weeds have a hard time growing. If you do notice weeds, you can use granular herbicides that are safe for buffalo grass in early and late summer.

If you’re wanting a natural remedy to crabgrass that also won’t harm surrounding grass, you can also hand-remove crabgrass or even pour boiling water or 5% vinegar over crabgrass as a spot treatment.

Mowing a lawn will, unfortunately, not get rid of clover, and it may even encourage it to flourish. Let your lawn grow to a healthy height of over 3 inches and then set your mower blades no lower than this level. Higher grass will cut out the light that clover loves and discourage it from spreading.
