This happened at midnight and we called the after hours number 3 different times and no one ever called back or came to repair the service until the office opened in the morning. They apologized that their 24 hour service did not work this time. Someone was supposed to be on call but never called us. Then a repairman came out in the morning and spent quite a few hours looking for a problem and repaired the humidifier controls, which he said the installers should have been able to install correctly, but they can't and that's why he had to. One of my complaints is that the workers say critical things about one another in a very mean-spirited way. Plus now we have a control dial on the furnace sheet metal that does not work and should never have been installed. The humidifier was always supposed to be controlled by the thermostat, he said. We figured out that the system was tripping the breakers in the electric circuit breaker box. He then said that to solve the problem with the system shutting off, we needed to replace the two breakers in our electrical panel that serviced the system, because they were shutting off due to being too old: the house is 19 years old. Then he left believing that would fix the problem, however they don't replace breakers he said. So I went and bought and installed the new breakers and the system still shut off again within a couple of hours. We're still within 48 hours of the system being installed. So a different repairman came out and he finally figured out that the heating system wires had been incorrectly installed by the original team of installers. The 60 amp wire had been hooked to a 30 amp breaker, and vice versa. He also said very critical mean-spirited things about the installers and the previous repairman for doing this and for not realizing it. So he installed them correctly. He then left and within 30 minutes the system tripped the breaker again, the main breaker this time. So I called him back out, it is around midnight again, and he told us this time that the reason we were having these problems was that they had overloaded our electric box. He said that it was a 100 amp service and they had installed a system that meant the box had more than 100 amps trying to run on it now. He said anyone would have known that, including the man who bid the job and the installers. So replacing the breakers didn't help and was a waste of money and now after spending over $6,000 for the HVAC system, we were expected to have a new electrical service installed too. He said we needed to decide what to turn off. That the breakers would keep shutting off because the box was overloaded. This was during the middle of the winter and I was being told to pick what to turn off from an outdoor hot tub, the heat exchanger/ furnace and the heat pump. Turning off the heat pump would cause the electric bill to skyrocket he said, but might be the best choice. He also said we shouldn't use the humidifier. So there was no good choice being offered to us. And we were being told that they would have known that they were overloading our box, but never bothered to tell us that this would happen before they began the job. Next we experienced the heat pump starting to be very noisy, we called and the most recent repairman came out and said, oh yea, we knew this would happen. He said, the Freon can't be measured in cold weather, so we just put in a certain amount and then in the Spring we have to come out again and measure it and make it right. It'll be noisy till then, he said. It is right by our bedroom windows and we even paid extra for a \"blanket\" to make it quieter and yet no one mentioned that this problem would occur. I have used Polaire several times in the past. About ten years ago we had a problem with them installing a heat pump that was too small for our previous home and when we complained about the problems we were having, they came out, admitted the unit was too small and installed the correct size and charged us nothing additional. At that time, I was satisfied with how they fixed the problem. Now, clearly I am not. They also removed a door from the room they were working in and didn't replace it before they left, leaving me to have to do it. There was also a bit of difficulty with the bid when the job was done and we were settling up and since it was after the office was closed, there was no way to get clarification on it. I was being asked to pay $200 more than I thought I was supposed to and the installer had no one he could call for answers and in the end it worked out the bid had been poorly worded and explained to me. In light of what happened next, that was simply additional difficulty that adds to the problems we experienced this time. The system is now working, I had to have new electric service installed for another $3000 and the heat pump will be noisy til Spring I guess. All in all, this is the last time I will use Polaire."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ks/olathe/polar-aire-heating-and-cooling-reviews-369490.htm"},"position":7},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Reddi Services Inc","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"KS","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"JAMINI A."},"reviewBody":"Again, they did an amazing job. My husband replaced one outlet and it SEEMED to fix BOTH. But on the following Tuesday, with my husband out of town on business, I woke to find that the original two outlets weren't functioning, PLUS 2 more, which included one for our stand alone freezer. I got KAL Electrics info off the Angie's' List site and made the call at 8 a.m. I explained I would be available after 11 a.m, due to an appointment. I was told someone could come between 11 and 4, which was fine with me. Even better, the repairman (in this case also the owner of the company) came before noon. He listened to what had been going on and what we'd tried, and said he believed he knew the problem. It was an adjacent (always functioning) outlet which was causing it, and it was a fire hazard. Showed me the area which had dark spots from heating up. He did a wonderful job in a timely fashion and kept us safe."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ks/stilwell/kal-electric-reviews-121352.htm"},"position":9},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Cates Service Co","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"KS","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Vern T."},"reviewBody":"The costs seemed out of line, for example for an A coil repair, heat pump, and copper it was $7500. "Insulation guys were great but the windows are horrible. They let cold air in worse than our old windows. We called them and they finally came out and put a little strip of Insulation on them and they still let in cold air and whistle when the wind blows. We have called and left messages and no calls back. I wouldn't recommend Rolox windows to anyone. Paid around 1000$ per window and still cold air comes in. Never again."

FAQs for heating oil service projects in Louisburg, KS
To buy heating oil for your house, contact local heating oil companies to compare prices and place an order once you decide on a supplier. The company will have to deliver your heating oil in a truck designed to carry and dispense heating oil safely. Call and order your heating oil early enough to have your oil delivered before you need to start using it for home heating.
On average, you’ll need about two gallons of oil per day to heat your house when it’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most oil tank capacity is about 275 gallons, and heating your house with two gallons of oil per day will last about four and a half months. This consumption will vary depending on the climate and average temperature in your location. For example, if the winters are longer and colder where you live, you’ll probably need to refill your oil tank at least once to get through the winter.
You save money on heating oil in a few ways:
Make sure your home is well insulated and sealed against drafts and heat leakage.
Use a thermostat that’s working properly and calibrated accurately.
Program your thermostat to lower the heat when you’re not home.
Order heating oil during the off-season when prices are likely to be lower.
Summer months tend to be when heating oil prices are lowest because of decreased demand. Buying heating oil during the off-season also prepares you for when the weather gets cold, and you need to start using the oil to heat your home. Although heating oil prices will fluctuate, it’s best to avoid purchasing between September and April, as that's the peak season for heating oil demand.
Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.
