"D&A Painting Pro did an excellent job in painting our entire house inside. They came when they said they could and completed the job in 3 1/2 days. Abner was great to work with and very reasonable in price."

"We've had them do work over a dozen times. We are a HOA, and consist of five buildings which are condominiums. The first time we hired them to paint, we just don't do business with anybody besides River City Painting. They've done board replacement where necessary, along with trim work repairs, but they specialize in painting. They do what they say they will do, exactly, and they stick to schedule. We have many elderly residents, and there is never any hassle with this company. Ex. They never park in resident parking, and they never leave a trail behind. We have many rock gardens, which could easily be over sprayed, and they don't spill a drop of paint. Tony, the owner, can be trusted. He is a man of his word, and you can trust him to follow through with his word. Every time I look at our buildings, I can't help but admire the craftsmanship. It's been three years since it was last painted, and it looks like it was painted last week. I could go on, but these guys really do amazing work. I won't use anybody else. They also do beautiful interior painting! The prep-work is second to none, and the quality is exactly as neat and clean looking as the exterior work."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, beginners can use a paint sprayer, but there is a learning curve. It's important to go slowly, read the instructions thoroughly, and spend some time learning the technique. Watching tutorial videos for your specific paint sprayer model can be very helpful. Before starting your main project, practice on a scrap surface to get used to the sprayer and avoid common issues like overspraying, which can cause drips, bubbles, and other imperfections. For safety, always wear a mask and gloves, and be careful not to touch the sprayer's tip when it's in use, particularly with high-powered airless sprayers.

By applying protective finishes and using durable materials that withstand weather and time.

Always sand a deck before repainting so the wood is smooth and ready for paint. While you do not need to fully remove paint before repainting, sanding helps remove any areas with weather and sun damage. Sanding also helps remove chipped or flaking paint and opens the wood pores to improve paint adhesion.

Ultimately, overapplication of stain can compromise the deck's appearance, durability, and longevity. It may result in an uneven finish, with excess stain pooling, dripping, or drying into thick patches. It can also obscure the wood's natural grain and texture, detracting from the desired aesthetic. Moreover, excessive staining may not fully penetrate the wood, leading to poor adhesion and premature wear. Additionally, thick layers of stain are prone to peeling, cracking, and blistering as they struggle to bond with the surface.

A wood deck requires annual cleaning and regular inspections for loose or broken boards, nails, and screws. It should be refinished by applying a stain or sealer every two to three years to protect the wood from water damage, rot, mildew, and sun fading. The exact frequency can depend on the climate and the deck's exposure to sun and moisture. If your deck is painted, it will need repainting approximately every 10 years. Signs that your deck needs refinishing include faded, splintering, or warping boards.
