The owner is a master carpenter with over 25 years experience in all faucets of woodworking, furniture repair and restoration. In addition exotic hardwood lumbers are available. D&M does offer trim carpentry for new and remodeling construction as a subcontractor. For custom order projects, standard practice is 50% of estimate at the time of order and the remainder on delivery. For large orders, progress payments may be required. We accept cash, checks and major credit card payments. Special promotions are offered every month, and are generally posted on our Facebook page.

In most cases, it is more affordable to reupholster furniture than it is to replace it, but it depends on the quality and age of the furniture you’re considering getting reupholstered. Antique pieces are always worth reupholstering, as it’s the only way to preserve the piece and extend its life. Wood stains last anywhere from two to five years, depending on exposure to the elements, your local climate, the type of stain, and the surface it’s on. For instance, vertical surfaces last longer than horizontal surfaces. Some types of woods, like dense hardwoods, will require a recoat yearly, as they are too dense for the stain to absorb. In any event, apply a recoat every 2 to 4 years. As for storage, a can of unopened stain can last up to 5 years, though results may vary.

Water-based wood fillers work for small gaps or gouges, while epoxy has added strength to fill larger scratches and gaps.

It can take as little as 30 to 60 minutes for wood filler to dry, but some products take up to four hours. Always read labels to ensure you're following the manufacturer’s instructions. Water-based wood fillers typically take longer to dry than oil-based or epoxy-wood fillers, especially when applied to large areas or deep cracks. Wood putty won’t dry completely, remaining slightly pliable.
