These girls had their work cut out for them as well but did a very good job baseboards ceiling fans and even organizing! I would definitely recommend these girls and do recommend them they do an amazing job. This was a two-day job as well for the amount of hours they put in it was well worth the money I spent indeed. "Alan was prompt. Did an excellent job in replacing the carpet pad and reinstalling the carpet. His price was very reasonable. We had Alan to come back a few days later and tile a bathroom floor. We had concerns about replacing the tile around the edge of the floor/wall because of the age and the 2" tile vs the present day 4". Alan cut the 4" tiles down to 2" and installed them along side the new floor giving a very professional appearance, We are very pleased with Alan who is a very pleasant hard-working man and his professionalism. We will recommend him to friends and colleagues."

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

Yes, tackling blown fuses and broken light bulbs is definitely safe. Fixing the wiring on a strand of Christmas lights isn’t a good idea, though, because of the danger of shock and fire. However, if you don’t feel comfortable working with any type of electricity, consider hiring a professional Christmas light installer to manage the job safely and efficiently.

Take a picture of your house to easily replicate the same design for next year and keep the clips and accessories. When storing your lights, wrap them around cardboard so they don’t get tangled. Purchase a ladderless extension pole kit to hang your lights (around $30 to $50) for hard to reach areas.

How many string lights can be on one outlet depends on a number of varying factors, including the total wattage of your circuit, the type of lights, the energy needs of the lights, and cord specifications. It’s better to play it safe here to protect your circuit, so figure out the max wattage of your circuit, compare that to the lights, and move on from there. Generally speaking, LED string lights require less energy than incandescent bulbs, translating to a higher number of lights per circuit.

Professional installation offers several benefits, including a safe and efficient setup, access to specialized equipment, design expertise to enhance aesthetic appeal, and the assurance that electrical components are properly managed to prevent hazards or damage.

If you only need strands in safe and easy-to-reach locations and are sure of your electrical system, you can probably purchase and install lights yourself. To do this, carefully test your outlets to ensure there aren’t any sparks or other concerning issues. Your budget might also influence this decision, as going the DIY route can be significantly cheaper.
