"We hired Level precision to replace a drop ceiling with drywall and puck lights in one of our rental properties. It looks absolutely flawless! It completely transformed the room. While they were working my husband and I tore down wallpaper in the largest room in the house. Needless to say it was a disaster, the drywall behind it was destroyed. Ruben and his team came through and skim coated the entire room. My jaw literally dropped when I saw it. On top of that they patched, taped, put in a new outlet for us. We are so grateful for this company! Their pricing was more than fair! I am so happy we found them. We will definitely be calling them back for future projects!"

"We initially hired Jim based on the 5-star reviews he had already received on HomeAdvisor.com. Those reviews were well-deserved! You know how it is with home improvement; you start with a punch list and keep finding more things to add as you go along. Jim’s work at our home included installing a new range top and gas line, repairing stuck and broken doors, replacing broken electrical outlets, installing outside security lights, and replacing cracked porcelain floor tiles. He also did a beautiful job stripping and refinishing the front door with the installation of new weather stripping. After the entire list was finished, we were so impressed with his work that we rehired Jim’s team to open and install electrical wiring and wire conduit in the great room wall in preparation for installation of a large screen television. We also had him remove obsolete speaker connections and wall sconces. His team did a beautiful job patching the drywall and repainting the entire room on a tight deadline. The quality of his work and the professionalism of his entire team was excellent. Jim was often present to personally oversee the work and make certain that it was done to his exacting standards. Jim is a perfectionist who is punctual and answers phone calls or text messages immediately. He personally saw to it that all work was done right and completed on time. His prices seemed reasonable for high quality work."

"Steve and his employees did an immaculate job restoring the walls of the home I inherited from my grandparents. 80% of the house had wallpaper from 1981. Project was started and completed on time and perfectly. I currently have other ongoing projects with them, including painting work and future planned work, so I will be updated or adding reviews in the future. Thank you, Steve!"

"Job was done fairly well. There were some large paint drips/roller marks on the walls in one of the bedrooms that are definitely noticeable unfortunately, and there were several dried paint drops on the carpet/baseboard that won't come out. At the suggestion of the painter we added on some repair/painting of the ceiling (the tape was peeling around some of the corners). The add-on work was a bit pricey, but this was offset by the original deal purchased on AL which was very inexpensive.
Overall it was still a positive experience. Our painter was on time, polite, and honest. I would probably reach out to RRP again if I need painting done in the future.

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

Popcorn ceilings can be relatively easy to keep clean with regular maintenance. Avoid exposing it to smoke if possible—popcorn ceilings tend to collect stains from smoke, including those from cigarettes or cooking. With proper care, you can clean your popcorn ceiling anywhere from every six months to a year—or as needed.

Priming a popcorn ceiling before painting is a good idea, especially if the ceiling is stained, discolored, or has never been painted. Interior paint primer helps seal the surface, preventing stains from bleeding through and allowing the paint to adhere better. Use a stain-blocking, water-based primer for best results.

Textured walls are a great way to hide imperfections left over by drywall installation, but many homeowners feel like it’s an outdated look, despite there being so many types of drywall texture. And while the textured walls of today are a far cry from the popcorn ceilings and faux stucco of our grandmother’s homes, if you want a more modern look or you want to install wallpaper, it’s time to smooth out your walls.

When steaming falls short, consider utilizing a commercial texture remover tailored for popcorn ceiling removal. Adhere closely to the manufacturer's guidelines and conduct a preliminary test in an inconspicuous spot to verify compatibility with your ceiling. This specialized product offers an alternative solution for stubborn texture removal, potentially streamlining the process while safeguarding the integrity of your ceiling surface. Remember, products like these may be high-VOC, so wear protective gear.

The cost to repair a ceiling after a water leak can vary, with averages ranging from $419 to $1,359, or $45 to $55 per square foot. Smaller patches may cost around $150. The final price depends on the size of the affected area and the extent of the damage. Remember that you will also need to repair the source of the leak, such as roof damage or a plumbing issue, which can cost an additional $200 to $1,550. Depending on the situation, you might also face costs for repainting or repairing floors. For an accurate estimate, it is best to get a quote from a professional.
