"I selected Good Air Tree Service because the pricing was reasonable and they were able to remove the tree and stump within a week. I learned that some tree removal services do not own stump grinders so they will remove the stump at a later date whenever they line up several stumps to grind to warrant the rental costs. They ground the stump 14" deep and surface roots several feet around the tree to prevent regrowth. Stump grindings removed and new top soil delivered. Very satisfied."

"Timbers pros came to our home to remove a very large Maple tree, that was probably 60 to70 feet high. They worked really hard . They took the tree and the stump , brought in dirt covered the area, with dirt and sewed grass seed. They treated our property as if it was their own, and when they left you hardly knew they were there. Five stars for the work they did at a reasonable price."

"I had them come do a tree trim on one of my front yard trees. It had some dead limbs and I just wanted to keep the tree looking nice and alive. They did a very professional job in an efficient time frame. I was left very content with the outcome of my tree."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Generally, you’ll want to avoid pruning more than 25% of the tree’s canopy at one time. While pruning your tree is important, it’s possible to do it too often or to go too far. Again, this is why hiring a tree trimming pro to do the work is wise. However, if you do decide to DIY, going slow and trimming gradually is the name of the game.

Pruning trees is important for several reasons. It improves tree health and strength by removing dead, diseased, or unwanted branches, which in turn encourages new growth and can help treat disease. For fruit trees, proper pruning can lead to a larger and better-quality harvest. Pruning also enhances safety by removing weak limbs that could break and fall, potentially causing injury or property damage, especially during storms. Beyond these functional benefits, pruning can also improve a tree's appearance. To ensure pruning is done correctly for the tree's long-term health, consider hiring a professional.

Yes, it’s okay to trim low branches on a tree, also known as limbing up or raising the crown. Essentially, you’ll trim the lower third of the tree (trunk) and leave the upper two-thirds of the tree (crown). Arborists recommend trimming 20% of a tree’s leaves per season for two to three seasons. Trimming low branches allows light to flow through the tree, increasing circulation and making the tree stronger and healthier.

If you’re looking to rot a tree stump fast, potassium nitrate will work far quicker than copper nails. First, drill several holes into the stump using a power drill, then pour potassium nitrate pellets into the holes. Next, add water to help the chemical absorb into the wood, thoroughly soaking the stump to ensure the pellets dissolve and spread evenly. Afterward, cover the stump with a tarp to retain moisture and block sunlight, then place mulch on top to secure it in place.

Most trees can be successfully transplanted while they are young, but pines, walnuts, and some oak tree varieties are more difficult to move because their root systems grow deeper than most other trees. Also, trees adapted to sandy soil with wide root systems like beeches, willows, and aspens are harder to dig out because their roots spread much farther out from the trunk. In these cases, unless the trees are very young and small, it’s a good idea to consult a tree planting professional.
