"It was a pleasure to meet Adrian. He is a great young man who was very knowledgeable about his work. He is friendly and professional. I got quotes from other tree services and Affordable Tree Service had the fairest price. The tree was trimmed and looks great. I have had trees trimmed in the past that were left looking unattractive and proceeded to die. Adrian talked me through how he leaves the ends healthy so the tree can continue to flourish. I highly recommend this small company to get the personal touch and great tree service."

"Luke Heckman responded quickly to my inquiry for an estimate servicing two apple trees in the front yard. The price was extremely reasonable. He came to the house within a few days and thoroughly trimmed and pruned the trees and they look great now. I will call Luke for sure if I need more tree work done. Highly recommend!"

"I needed a few trees removed from my property after the big storm in March. David was able to come out and remove the damaged trees and even helped trim a few broken branches from some other trees taht we saw. He's extremely friendly and very helpful. His crew works hard and they clean up real well."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

A general rule is that trees need 10 gallons of water for each inch of the tree’s diameter. For large trees, that can amount to approximately 160 gallons of water or more. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.

Coverage varies quite a bit by policy, but most homeowners' insurance policies will cover $500 to $1,000 of the cost of removing a tree. Additionally, if your tree causes damage to your property, like your house, many policies will cover some or all of the costs to repair the damage, depending on why the tree fell.

Homeowners are usually not responsible for trees that fall on power lines. Power companies usually have utility easements around power lines, which give them the responsibility to maintain any trees within about 15 to 20 feet of the lines.

Late August, September, and mid-October are the ideal months for planting a young tree. However, the best time to plant a tree ultimately depends on when the weather transitions to fall-like conditions and eventually winter frost. As long as the hottest days of summer have passed and the ground hasn’t frozen yet, you can still successfully plant trees.

Pruning is an effective way to prevent a diseased branch from infecting the rest of the tree. If the infection isn’t caught early enough and the pathogen has spread to the trunk or the majority of the branches though, it is too late to prune off the affected areas and you’ll likely need to remove the tree.
