"Sterling Electric worked my installation in very quickly. The technician arrived right on time at 8:00 AM, very efficiently installed the ceiling fan, cleaned up any packaging material and was finished in just an hour. The technician was very polite, and I felt very comfortable having him in my home."

"They removed the existing flooring and replaced it with new in one of my rentals. It took them about 5 hours total and they were done. I didn't even have time to come over and see it before they finished. I pulled up to see how things were going and they were already gone. Everything cleaned up and everything was back in its place like they were never there. Very happy with their work.

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Most people describe the sound of an unbalanced ceiling fan as a buzzing or grinding noise. This is caused by the parts of the fan rubbing or rattling against each other as the blades spin. However, a wobbling fan can also make squeaking, rattling, or thumping sounds, depending on the severity of the balance issue.

Blower fans are better for preventing mold growth than dehumidifiers because they target the damaged areas and increase the rate of evaporation, which dries out the building materials. Ideally, you should run blower fans and a dehumidifier, as this will allow the fans to move dry air over your damaged building materials, drying out the space even more quickly.

Keeping dust off fans can keep them working optimally and help keep dust mites or bacteria from building up. Dust fans weekly with a duster, microfiber cloth, old pillowcase, or vacuum attachment. You can also try spraying a clean fan with a store-bought dust-repellent product or making a DIY dust-repellent with water and a small amount of liquid fabric softener mixed in.

It is unlikely that a ceiling fan will fall, even if it develops a wobble. During a proper installation, ceiling fans are securely bolted to a ceiling joist, and the fasteners used for mounting are generally separate from the components related to balancing. A wobble is typically caused by an imbalance, which can be annoying and may lead to other issues, but is not usually dangerous on its own.

However, if a fan is wobbling because it was not installed correctly, it could be at risk of falling. For safety, it's always a good idea to ensure all mounting screws are tight and to address any wobbling or imbalance issues promptly.

Yes, dust and pollen on a fan can trigger allergy attacks in many people. Additionally, fan blades can hold onto potentially dangerous bacteria particles before they die out. That’s why it’s important to keep all of the fans in your home clean and dust-free, which will help avoid any sickness or allergy flare-ups.
