"Terrible. Deck and porch have never been touched. Shrubs and plants were torn out but never replaced. Debris was left all over the yard. Contractor kept demanding more money but never showed up with materials. Basically stole $8,000 from me and is now running. Couldn't be served with court documents because business was abandoned, mail returned, and not answering phone. There are no words to describe how big a mistake it was to do business with this company."

While it's possible to cover asbestos tile with carpet, it's not recommended. Encapsulating tile beneath carpet doesn't eliminate the health risks. Snap a chalk line to guide the first row, and use spacers for the most precise installation—these maintain an even extension gap between the flooring planks and the wall. Finally, double-check that the first row is level before moving on to the second row. If it’s not, start over and get it right before completing the rest of the floor.

Vinyl and laminate flooring can have a similar life span. Both well-maintained laminate and luxury vinyl flooring can last up to 25 years. The exception is the thinner type of vinyl flooring that comes in sheets and lasts less than 10 years. It’s important to note that vinyl is waterproof, whereas you can ruin laminate if it absorbs too much moisture.
