Our business has been part of Lafayette since 2003. When the business started, we cleaned and detailed vehicles for a local auto group and slowly expanded into mobile washing. We temporarily moved to a new location in 2008 while our facility received a massive makeover. On 11/1/11, we moved back to our previous location and expanded our business to meet the demands of our customers. We are truly number 1!

Jones & Sons Painting has 4 employees including the three owners. We do not sub-contract our work out. Billing depends on the type of the job. Sometimes we require a percentage upfront.

"Did a great job, but when peeling appeared in some areas they never came out to complete the warranty work. Toward the end they had an excuse, the paint shortage of 2021, but for the 18 months before, there was no excuse. They would call and say they would be out next week, then never show up."

Pressure Washing questions, answered by experts

Most powerwashing jobs take 2-6 hours, but larger buildings or areas with deep staining may require an entire day.

A good PSI for a pressure washer will depend on the job you're doing. Pressure washer PSI ratings range from 1,300 to 4,200 PSI. Lower PSI is suitable for cleaning dirt and debris off of softer materials. Use a low PSI when pressure washing vinyl siding , wood, or stucco. A heavy-duty job like cleaning graffiti off of concrete or brick will require at least 2,000 PSI.

It’s best to pressure wash in the spring, but it’s okay to pressure wash in the spring or the fall. Dirt, grime, and mildew can gather and reappear over the winter, so pressure washing only in the fall may not be worth the effort. Instead, pressure washing in the spring cleans areas around the house for the rest of the season. You can always touch up again during the summer or fall to make spring cleaning a little easier.

Depending on the amount of experience you have with power washing or pressure washing, hiring a professional is likely a better option. Using a pressure washer requires a bit of know-how to avoid damaging siding, trim, roofing shingles, and even the seals on your windows. Holding the pressure washer too close to the material you’re cleaning can cause damage to the surface. You can wash your home’s exteriors with a garden hose, but high-pressure cleaning should be done by professionals.

Cedar shake siding requires regular cleaning, or else it will grow mold and algae. However, a pressure washer can easily damage your cedar shakes if the water pressure is too high. We recommend cleaning with a garden hose instead. Review our guide to cedar siding maintenance if you’ve just finished your installation.
