"Great. I’m so happy that I have found Prefered Roof Systems company to put a new metal roof at my warehouse. The owner, Doug, Is very honest and friendly. He has 30 years experience in roofing. He explained the process and cost and warranty, and the price was very reasonable. I signed the contract and put down the deposit right away. And two weeks later his crew came and did a great job. They clean up very nice after the job too. I was worried about the leaks before snow comes, but now I feel so good that it is all done. I received other quotes from other companies, And they said that I had to replace the skylight window that would have cost me much more and it was not necessary. And Doug never mentioned that I needed a new skylight window. If you need a new roof please do not hesitate to hire Prefered Roof System. And you will not regret it. If I need a new roof I would definitely hire them again."

"We obtained 6 bids to replace our roof. Caliber's bid was very competitive in price. It was a very difficult decision as to which company to select since all bidders were highly valued on Angie's List. We have a larger home plus a workshop that was in need of shingles. Spring rains made it difficult to schedule a date but with a 3 day window of clear weather the job was started at 8 a.m. and was completed at the end of the second day at 6 p.m. Workiing past 8 p.m. on the first day the 10 man crew was able to lay 103 squares of shingles in the two days. We were concerned about the hundreds of plants around our property being damaged and made that a priority. Chris the supervisor on the job was extremely helpful and kept the work moving along. Clean-up was far more complete that we could have anticipated. Thanks Claiber.

"My husband and I hired them to redo our roof we ran into a few problems but they worked with us to remedy them they even gave us some discounts. They left a dumpster parked in front of our garage over the weekend but when we called they were able to get it moved right which was after working hours."

"Ronan said he would do the bathroom tile and he did not. He left us in the hands of trainees for the majority of the time. We appreciate his Father being there but it seemed as if we were squeezed into his schedule like an afterthought. They were never on time. The work was not up to par and doesn't fit the name Construction Perfection. My husband called him back to look at some concerns and Ronan had to reschedule which was fine but my husband couldn't reach him after the fact. He didn't return his phone calls or respond to his texts. It's a shame because he seems like a nice guy but nice doesn't fit the bill."

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

If you can’t repair and repurpose your shed, it might be possible to sell it, donate it, or salvage parts rather than them just ending up in a landfill. Professional junk removal services will advise you on what can and will be recycled. You may also want to keep some parts to upcycle them for other projects around your home. Turning planks from your memory-filled wooden shed into a coffee table or bed headboard is good for the environment and the soul.

You may need a local building permit and written permission from your homeowner’s association to install a shed, especially if you’re doing any substantial land clearing or installing electricity or plumbing. Permit requirements vary between municipalities, so research the local laws before starting your project. If you hire a contractor to build the shed, they can help determine which permits will be necessary.

The difference between a pole barn and a stick-built barn is in the construction. Large poles in the ground provide support for pole barns. For stick-built barns, 2-by-4 or 2-by-6 lumber (known as sticks) create a frame around load-bearing beams. Stick-built construction is far more popular for residential homes. Pole barns are more cost-effective because they require fewer materials and less labor.

Building a tiny house is the least complicated way to build, especially if you’re tackling the project as a DIY. The smaller size means less complex plans, more straightforward utility installation, and fewer ways to make costly errors. Tiny homes still need to conform to building codes and often have other applicable regulations, so be sure to get the proper permits and confirm your build is by the book.

Rustic and modern farmhouse styles are currently the most popular. These include rustic and antique furniture, muted colors, clean lines, eclectic decor, and natural materials. Some other popular farmhouse styles include the following:

  • Coastal farmhouse: Creates a lighter, airier feel with soft colors and blue palettes, along with gold

  • Colonial farmhouse: Focuses on real antique furniture and decor

  • French farmhouse: Leans on French country architecture and design by including marble and lighter-colored metals, like zinc

  • Industrial farmhouse: Includes thick, chunky furniture and dark metals

  • Scandinavian farmhouse: Usually includes lighter wood colors and more refined furniture
