"On 2/16 Steam Master came out to clean our carpets and they refused to clean them. B&C Carpet Care was recommended by our banker. Bob came out and worked 4 hours and did an amazing job. Some of the stains from dog urine did not come out, which was expected. House smells great and floors are amazingly clean.

"Everyone was professional and considerate. They kept in communication to set up times and reminders. Any questions I had were answered promptly and completely. Follow up after the carpet was installed was treated with the same professional service. I would highly recommend Floor Coverings International ."

"They did a great job.   The office staff is friendly and professional, and the technician was on time and worked quickly.  We had already had the carpets cleaned by another company 2 months earlier and I had not been happy with the results.  A friend recommended FiberXperts and they did not disappoint. They were able to remove stains that the other company couldn't.  We had cream colored carpet  bullnosed on stairs and the tech explained how difficult that is to clean, but they turned out beautifully.
They called me a year later to see if I wanted the carpets cleaned again - I do however I was in the middle of a remodeling project and am waiting until eveyrthing is finished.  I will definitely use them again.

"I think I have them on a Groupon and it was a Groupon deal.  The price that I paid was significantly half of what I probably would have paid.  It was less than $200.  They were very professional.  They were here on time.  The reason that I had them come out was because I have a dog and the dog had an accident.  So they were not able to get the stains out of a lighter carpet.  They could get the stains out of the darker carpet but not the lighter one.  So it wasn’t their fault and they tried everything that they could.  In my opinion they tried a lot of different crazy things that they had, but they couldn’t get the dog stains out of the lighter carpet that I have.  The purpose of them being out was to get those stains out for me, but it didn’t come out.  I think that they tried though."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Some flooring companies recycle old carpet after replacing it. The broader flooring industry has been moving toward recycling more carpet material. However, whether an individual carpet gets recycled is up to the flooring company that removes it. When gathering quotes for new flooring in your area, ask each company about removal options and what they do with the material.

Carpet is most often affixed to the floor by tacks in tack strips rather than nailed or glued directly to the subfloor. The tack strips are nailed to wood subfloors. Even if you want to install carpet over concrete, you’ll adhere the tack strips to the concrete with masonry nails or a liquid adhesive.

The complexity of installation depends on the type of flooring you choose and the level of expertise required to install it. While some materials, like vinyl or laminate, offer relatively straightforward installation processes suitable for DIY enthusiasts, others, such as natural stone or hardwood, often require professional assistance from a flooring company to ensure proper fitting and longevity.

Installing carpet over carpet may negatively impact the resale value of your home. While it offers a quick fix, potential buyers may view it as a temporary solution rather than a long-term investment in quality flooring. Properly installed and maintained flooring adds value to a home, so removing the existing carpet and installing new flooring may be a better option to attract prospective buyers and maximize resale value.

A stair runner can be cheaper than a carpet and will definitely save money over the cost of refinishing hardwood floors and stairs. The price depends, however, on the fabric and quality of the runner. A wool stair runner can be more expensive than an inexpensive polyester carpet and vice versa. Keep an eye on your budget, knowing that the higher quality the carpet and the carpet pad, the better the carpet will wear over time.
