"JB & West is more than just a roofing company they provide a well rounded base to the construction industry as a whole. For a company that started out of a garage they sure hired some very key people who have set this company up for major success. When it comes to roofing they got you covered but what about siding, or gutters or concrete demo or stone work? If you re wondering if they can do it, that answer would be yes. The PM Tim Becker, has dialed things in like it s a 1926 omega pocket watch. The attention to detail that this man conveys to his team is beyond what a normal person does. He s tough but he s fair, he s honest and he gives you the best he has each and every day. Men like him don t need pats on the back or reviews written about them because their leadership in the field speaks for itself. Tim, has designed and trained two styles of siding crews. Team one goes in and knocks it out of the park but this team is not the fine tuned team they are the demo and put up crew. Team two is the detail guys. This is where perfection is made. It s fast, efficient and the quality is amazing. Now don t get me wrong you still need to walk and look at everything because no one is perfect. Things get missed but they fix everything to what you want it. Team one is led by Foreman Adam Lowe, Team two is lead by Scott Snyder. Their crews work hand in hand with each other and I cannot tell you enough what a great job all these guys do. Their crew members Eric Herrera, Sha white, Karl Brewer and Nathan Coy go out of their way to not only do what is asked of them for the job but also pay attention to what the client points out. Customer service from these guys sets the bar for other company s to try and achieve. They truly give you the sense that you are in good hands. The reason for that is......because Tim has trained and instilled in them the company core values. Tim, is normally the first one on site and always the last to leave. He takes phone calls and texts even when he s off or on weekends. Not because he has to but because he s committed to every project. The man is a machine and great at what he does. He is a true professional and JB & west is really lucky to have a man with his talent working for them. Our project was not the typical residential project. We had 5 buildings, 5 roofs, 5 buildings for siding, 4 buildings with gutters, 2 with all new soffits, fascia, stone work and demo of concrete. The JB gutter crew is lead by Shawn Griffin and Donnie Cox. They bent all my gutters and installed them on 4 buildings in 1 day. Down spouts couldn t all go on right away but we re done in 4hrs a few days later. Demo of two old concrete porches was done by Dalton Gilland and our Salesman. The guys who helped prep for my lime stone was Zach Barker, Mark Shultz, Matt Cannan and Dakota Freeman. Every single one of these guys and so many more took part in a Vision my wife and I had and they made it come to life. My neighbor said it s the best our house had looked in 52 years. Tim, thank you for all you and your crew did for us. We truly appreciated it. We encourage JB& West to use our house for future clients with before and after photos. They helped our house in Valparaiso IN look brand new! Great Job everyone"

Siding questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can install siding over stucco, but it's crucial to ensure the stucco is in good condition first. Before proceeding, inspect the stucco for any signs of damage, leaks, or mold growth. If you discover water damage, mold, or have ongoing leak issues, it's recommended to remove the stucco completely. This step prevents future problems like mold and pest infestations and allows a professional to repair or replace any damaged sheathing underneath. If the stucco is sound, the installation process involves attaching furring strips to the wall's framing directly through the stucco. The new siding is then installed onto these furring strips. A professional may also need to adjust window and door openings to prevent them from being recessed behind the new siding, which can cause aesthetic issues and create potential leak points.

The recommended PSI (pounds per square inch) for cleaning vinyl siding can vary, so it's best to consult the manufacturer's guidelines. Generally, vinyl siding can handle high pressure, from 2,500 to 3,500 PSI. For comparison, more delicate materials like wood and aluminum siding should not face more than 1,500 PSI. To safely disperse the pressure on vinyl, use a tip with a wider spray span, such as a green (25-degree) or yellow (15-degree) nozzle. For routine cleaning of light dirt, a garden hose with a spray nozzle may be sufficient. Always exercise caution to avoid using excessive pressure that could damage the siding.

Vinyl siding will fade slowly over time but will likely be most noticeable starting 10–15 years after installation. This timeline varies based on factors such as the climate where you live. In areas with more extreme hot or cold conditions, vinyl is likely to fade more quickly.

The lifespan of vertical siding depends on the type of material used and whether it’s properly maintained. For instance, vinyl siding can last between 20 and 30 years, while fiber cement siding can last up to 50 years. Remember that the type you choose will depend on how much maintenance it will require to prolong its longevity.

Composite siding is very resistant to warping that can affect some other sidings. Because of its composition, this siding doesn’t have the same risks of moisture damage that can cause rotting, buckling, and warping. Composite material doesn’t warp in high temperatures the way some kinds of vinyl siding can.

That said, composite siding is not entirely immune from moisture damage. It should still be properly installed so that moisture can properly drain from behind the siding, and protected by eaves and clean gutter so the siding doesn’t get repeatedly soaked by rain, which could lead to damage.
