"This was one of the best experiences I have ever had with a contractor.  Here are the things that impressed me most.
1.) The representative for the company, Brad Rigby, was foremost very professional, friendly and thorough.  He was on time for all appointments and took a very personal interest in my needs.  He listened to my concerns and addressed each of them particularly as it related to potential damage to underlying structure (roof decking,  trusees, and attic venting).  Brad also scheduled the roof replacement around my schedule so that I could complete other needed repairs prior to his company doing their work.
2.) The estimate provided by Beams was very detailed and easy to understand. Brad discussed each item in detail with me and answered all the questions I had. He did an exceptional job of  explaining roofing terms and requirements in language I understood.  His explanations were so good that it required little additional research on my part .  I had a couple of follow up questions and I found he was easy to reach and also answered these questions to my satisfaction.
3.) The crew performing the work were  employees who were regular workers for Beams.  The crew foreman was very personable.  He kept me informed on the work as it progressed and answered any questions I might have about the work.  He did an excellent job of supervising his coworkers.  I observed all workers taking extra care of my property by placing drop cloths over shrubbery,  placing old material on tarps, sliding and catching old shingles in such a matter that it also protected my gutters and painted surfaces.  Clean up progressed routinely with the company using a "wagon" style dumpster versus a big metal one which some companies use.  This resulted in additional protection for my concrete driveway.  At the end of each day, I observed each member of the crew inspecting my property for any missed discarded items ( nails, roofing, ect.)
4.) The job was not rushed and completed in three days.  This was a big concern to me as I had observed other roofers rushing jobs.  While the workers were very efficient and did not waste time.  You could tell they took pride in what they were doing and made sure they did it right. All shingles were "hand nailed" according to manufacturer warranty requirements.  All shingle lines were straight, flashing was installed without being excessively bent, and finished chalk lines on flashing looked very clean adding to the final appearance of the roof.
5.) Periodic inspection by another Beams employee.  As a quality control measure, I noted that an inspector was sent out to check on the quality of the work.  I met this individual and was also impressed by his work.  In addition, Brad also visited the worksite.
6.) Billing and Payment Terms were accurate.  On any roofing job there is the potential cost overruns.  These were explained in detail in my original estimate.  The only item I encountered was decking replacement which I observed and agreed needed replacement.  The cost for this was very reasonable.  Quality decking material was used as a replacement.  With the exception of the $185 for this, my final bill was exactly as estimated.  Payment terms were very reasonable (upon completion) and in fact Beams did not bill me until 6 day later. 
7.) What went wrong?  I can't believe I am saying this "Nothing went Wrong".  Having experienced problems with other companies (particularly roofers), I so far have had no problems with the roof or the company.  I feel like I have found a company to trust.
