"We had our whole home painted by Five Star Painting. Chad gave a fair quote from the beginning, unlike others that way overbid and then came back later to say they had calculated wrong. This was highly appreciated. The project start was delayed a couple days but once they started, they were on time every day and worked professionally and diligently throughout the day. They ended up finishing earlier than projected. We had a lot of nail holes from the previous owners and they patched it all so it's like our walls are new. We would highly recommend this company to others and will use them again!"

"A&S Painting did a fantastic job painting the entire interior of my home. The owner and his crew were friendly, professional and on time every day. The quality of the work was outstanding. I will be recommending them to everyone I know who is in need of paint, patching and any repairs etc."

Painting questions, answered by experts

The number of coats you need to apply when whitewashing a surface depends on how opaque you want the final product to be. If you're going for a transparent, barely there look, a single coat or two may suffice. For fuller coverage, you'll want to use multiple coats. Another option is to use a less diluted paint to get a thicker coverage.

Choosing the best color for your home exterior should factor in longevity as well as your personal taste. To keep your house looking newly painted as long as possible, stay away from red paint. Although red homes pop and are quintessential for country-style barns, red paint tends to fade fastest in the sun. Go with earth tones if you want paint that best resists fading.

DIY is possible but presents risks of uneven surfaces or improper adhesion; professionals offer expertise to ensure a lasting finish.

Yes, you can waterproof any wood that has not already been treated. A good way to test this is to splash some water on it. If the water starts to bead up, the wood is treated and most likely doesn’t need another coating.

A properly applied coat of stain will last between 3 and 8 years, depending on your climate. If you live in a place where your fence experiences a lot of moisture or high heat, your stain will last for a shorter period than in more temperate conditions. We recommend reapplying stain every 3 to 5 years to keep your wood in good condition.
