"Agreement was to remove 3 trees along west side of property, remove all wood and brush from trees. Remove all stumps and clean up rest of property. Mr Rust said that what sets him apart from other companies is that he prepares the soil and plants grass seed. He also agreed to give me 5 pounds of hamburger and 2 x 18 packs of fresh eggs. This agreement was witnessed by SLS. I never received the meat or eggs. I asked multiple times. Oil leaked from one of his trucks onto the driveway. He said he would clean it up the next morning. Meanwhile the guy grinding stumps kept driving over the oil spill spreading it. The next morning ended up being from Saturday to Tuesday. He poured solvent on it, and one of his guys brushed it around a little. He said he would come the next day with a wire brush. Didn't happen. He never did come back and clean the drive. He never planted grass seed either. The first day I asked him if he would be able to plant seed due to being windy and he replied that they say just before Winter is a good time to lay grass seed. I also asked him Tuesday when he called after dropping off his crew if he would be planting the seed that day and he replied that he would do it in the Spring. However when I asked him later in person about doing it in the Spring he said that he had said that I, not him, could do it in the Spring. Not true. Mr Rust dropped off 2 guys on Tuesday about noon to finish things up while he did business elsewhere related to repairs to neighbor's property when lines were knocked down. Mounds of stump grindings were around the holes were the trees had been - from Sat to Tues. I asked one of the guys if they were going to haul it away. He said that would cost more. They ended up spreading it out on the ground. I was told they had run the grinder over it twice. I asked again about grass seed and was told the grindings needed to break down. Tuesday one of the guys was cleaning the fence line on east side of property. I had asked him to cut out anything that wasn't a Rose of Sharon. When I was asked to check I pointed out that he had missed one but he had already put his chainsaw up.. Shortly after the lines were knocked down Friday Mr Rust asked me if he could leave his trailer in my yard overnight. I agreed. He immediately took off and left multiple large pieces of equipment and a truck on my lawn.. He and 2 guys got into trucks and took off. I assumed they would come back that day but they didn't. There were several guys still there working after he left. I asked a couple of them a question and they each replied that they didn't work for Mr Rust. Evidently he must have subcontracted - would have been nice to know who was in charge since he had left. The remaining guys left without saying a word to me after grinding 2 of the stumps and leaving the grindings. They also destroyed the 100 plus year old wooden property line posts. I mentioned this to Mr Rust and he said I could estimate where the line is to be. And I really did not appreciate his guys asking me multiple times about the check. My 5 siblings and I don't consider the job done yet. There is a small tree on east fence line that needs to come down. Driveway needs cleaned. Grass seed needs to be planted. Stump grindings need further ground or removed. It is unsafe to walk over on the West side where the trees were removed. It drops off and you sink in when you walk there and can trip over stalks. I would like all this done before the end of the year. I paid 50% of the quote for just tree removal (neighbor paid other half) and I paid an additional $1000 for clean up of rest of property."

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

Many tools are effective in helping you remove hedges. While heavy machinery is likely the best option for making quick work of hedge removal, your trusty hand spade shovel is probably the next best. Use a spade shovel to dig around the hedge and break roots as you go with the tool. Your spade is also useful for getting deep underneath the root ball, so you can insert a pry bar to help lift the plant.

If you want to remove a bush that’s located on top of utility lines, you’ll need to call your local utility company to determine the best course of action. If you can’t dig out your stump its roots, cutting a bush off at ground level might be the best you can do. Adding a planter over top of the cut branch or planting something else around the stump can cover the area while the stump decomposes.

The growth of tall fescue grass often causes clumps of grass in your lawn. Avoid pulling up the clumps, as it won’t effectively remove them. Instead, dig out clumps and their roots when you notice them early in the growing season. Herbicides can also treat grass clumps, but they can also affect other plants you might not want to kill, so use them sparingly and always follow manufacturer instructions.

Some things you can do to prepare for yard work services are aerate the soil, fertilize your grass, keep weeds under control, regularly mow your lawn, and water your grass.

Trimming a rose bush is similar to cutting back your shrubs or other bushes.

First, you’ll start by removing old, damaged, or diseased branches from the base. Next, thin out the plant's interior by removing thin, weak branches. Finally, you’ll want to cut off buds where the leaves meet the stem.

Trim away using a 45-degree angle, as this will help with water runoff and promote new growth outward.
