"Gromek Tree Service was great. Just had 2 trees cut down, stumps ground out, a few trees cleaned up and some bushes removed. They were friendly and professional. Great communication. Cleaned up after themselves and some! Would hire again"

"I lost control of the beds around my house. I had these folks come in to rescue. They cleared the bruh/weeds/overgrowth, put down a barrier, and mulched. It looks great. Price was reasonable. Work was done in a timely manner. They cleaned up after themselves. They kept in contact. I would use them again."

I live in the Lafayette area and will to serve its surrounding cities.

"The whole crew did amazing. I'm late to getting to review as we just bought the house. But they brought all the right equipment.. very fair priced esp being insured etc which is important. Craig was on things right away. They showed when they said they would be here ( another very important trait in tree service ). Owner walked me through all the work and made sure e everything was OK. And to cap it all off.. the mess was completely gone ! Thank you Craig and entire crew! Will definitely hire again ive got another tree for you lol. Thanks again !!"

"Alexander's was prompt to come out and provide a review, and likewise in providing their services. They gave an estimate for the work we requested, plus they also offered to do some additional work that needed done (if we chose) for a little bit more money.  The work required two visits, based on the type of work.  We were impressed with the price and the quantity and quality of work provided.  With the exception of one bush -- that we regret not having removed and we did not request that -- they did exactly what was needed.  They worked quickly and cleaned up everything.  We would definitely recommend them and use their services again.

"Was an emergency.  Not one other company bothered to call me back when I got a hold of these folks.  They happened to be right near by and did the work that day.  I wasn't there when the work was done.  They could have done a little better job on the tree and the price was a little steep, but it was an emergency and they were the only game in town.  I will use them again because my regular tree guy still hasn't called me back.

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Palm trees aren’t much different than your typical tree removal. Removing a palm tree is a standard procedure as long as pros have the proper tools and supplies. For DIYers, however, there are some risks associated with palm tree removal. Palm trees have spiky fronds, bark, and patches of hefty wood. So, it’s best to let an experienced tree service pro remove a palm tree.

It’s not as common for Dutch elm disease to affect other types of trees, especially if the surrounding trees aren’t elms. However, it is possible for DED to spread to other trees, particularly in northern states, like Minnesota. In fact, it’s a good idea to use geography to identify wood and determine which types of trees are in your yard.

Unfortunately, the complex and shallow root system of elm trees makes surrounding elm trees particularly vulnerable to DED. Early discovery is key!

For trimming trees, your best tool is a pair of pruning shears or loppers. Both options work best for branches that are under 3 inches in diameter. Trimming trees with a larger diameter may require a robust tool like a small chainsaw or a handsaw, so take into account your tree’s diameter when deciding between tools.

No. Most of the time, suckers are only a sign that the tree is experiencing stress. However, they can also be the canary in the coal mine, letting you know that something else is stressing your tree. If you have lots of suckers on your tree, calling in an arborist or a tree care expert is always a good call to determine the cause and develop a solution that de-stresses your tree.

Transporting a fully-grown tree requires heavy equipment, typically specialized for the task. A tree spade is a truck-mounted tool that removes the tree from the ground in one location, transports it, and places it in a new hole in a new location. A combination of mechanized shovels and lifts is necessary to move very large trees, and the exact tools often depend on location and the surrounding area.
