"From the first contact with them, they represented themselves as a straight forward and efficient business. I was NOT disappointed! I suffered through a cleaning group before White Glove who needed supervising by me and did a lousy job while I supplied the cleaning supplies and equipment. It was a nightmare! White Glove was just what I needed. I am handicapped and unable to do my floors and bathroom. From the start with White Glove, a sweet young lady, Charlene came to my door with her equipment and supplies in hand and ON TIME. She cleaned spider webs and dusted pictures which I had never done. My house shined after she was finished and in record time. She is a treasure and I hope for a long relationship with this company and the young lady. She makes me want to do a better job myself. :) I am living a dream come true. Sooooo happy!"

"LeafFilter doesn't clean gutters, they sell and install their LeafFilter Gutter products and only clean the gutters if you buy their product. I can't even begin to afford their product so I wasn't able to get my gutter cleaned by them."

Customers say: Terrific value

"Fortunately, I was home when the work was done, so I was able to get my gutters cleaned, which was what I originally wanted in addition to the repairs. Apparently, there was some miscommunication that I just wanted the repairs and not cleaning also. I have no reservations about the quality of the work, just the communication issue."

Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The best way to help a family member or friend declutter their home is to hire a professional organizer or cleaner to do it for them. However, you can also help them make a plan to tackle the clutter. Sit down with them and sort through the items, making piles of what to keep, toss, and donate. Focus on one area at a time to avoid overwhelming them. If they have trouble letting go of some items, ask them when they last used each item, what its purpose is, and whether it has sentimental value. The answers to these questions can help you advise them on handling clutter.

Homeowners can perform basic cleanup, but for efficient and thorough results, larger-scale or thorough cleaning may be best left to professionals.

You should consider doing a few things on your own that fall under the category of “good house cleaner etiquette” to prepare for your house cleaner. These include tidying counters, floors, and other surfaces, taking care of the dishes, moving laundry to the laundry room or a dedicated laundry basket, and putting away personal and private items. Think of your house cleaner as someone who brings your home from relatively tidy to organized and clean, and you should have no issues.

As a general rule of thumb, avoid handwashing dishes whenever possible—especially if you have a full sink. Using a dishwasher saves water and better sanitizes your dishes. However, if you have delicate dishwear, high-end glassware, or fragile plastics, you should opt to handwash it to avoid cracks, chips, or warping from the high heat of a dishwasher.

As a general rule, you should clean your oven at least every three months, though this depends on how often you use it and the amount of residue buildup. A clear sign that your oven needs cleaning is if you notice smoke or a burning smell during use. Many ovens have a self-cleaning cycle, which heats the oven to an extreme temperature. If you use this feature, stay home while it runs and consider ventilating the room, as it can create smoke. For manual cleaning, you can make a paste of baking soda and water or use white vinegar before resorting to harsher, store-bought oven cleaners.
