I grew up on a farm. I went to college. I have been a successful business owner for 6 years. Before starting my Contracting business I was a superintendent for a large glass company. I specialize in door and window installation/ replacement, bathroom remodeling, basement finishing, and demo/abatement work. Certified for Lead Abatement and swinging stage platform work. Have experience in project oversight, consulting, and good old labor. I enjoy design and engineering challenges, custom built and artistic projects but give the same attention to detail on the plain design jobs. I am probably too honest to get rich doing contract work, but i think that is something to be proud of. Im hardworking and resourceful making me a 1st choice for your next project.. I do consultation and oversight of many types of Contracting and construction jobs. My insight and experience across the board make me a valuable asset to customers who want the most for the money.

"I had asked a structural engineer for an inspection of our foundation, cellar, crawlspaces, and drainage. After receiving his report and recommendations, I asked a number of contractors for estimates. Out of at least 7 or 8 contractors, only 2 ever responded with bids. We chose ARW because of the very reasonable estimate, Mike Bird's responsiveness, and the positive reviews on Angie's List. Mike understood that it was an expensive project and happily itemized the bid by project step so that we could choose to have the work done gradually over time if need be. It took us some time to make that decision, but once we made it, things moved rather quickly. Mike sent us the contract for the work and scheduled the work to begin about 3-4 weeks after that. I had a lot of questions about the contract, and Mike answered them quickly and comprehensively, providing me with a detailed timeline of the work, a list of all materials to be used, a certificate of insurance, and a lien waiver. Work began in mid-December with a large crew onsite to excavate our crawlspace and dig out the drain trenches. ARW's crew was very nice and seemed to work incredibly hard (and all of them are ARW's crew-- no subcontractors). Once the crawlspace had been excavated, more joist damage was discovered, along with a fireplace foundation that interrupted the engineer's plans. Mike was concerned and called me to discuss a plan for moving forward. He recommended we bring our engineer out to look at the crawlspace and make new recommendations. The cost increased from the original bid, but seemed to me more than reasonable for the extent of the additional work, and no additional work began until we had signed off on it. There were a few days off for the holidays and weather, but otherwise, work continued without delay. Mike stayed in communication with us about the finishing date. The structural repairs were inspected by our engineer and found to be correct (and-- hooray!-- our floors are now structurally sound!) and Mike came to our house to collect the final payment and address any questions we might have. The structural repairs are covered by a 25-year limited warranty that is transferable to the next owners of the house. Our experience has been very positive. Mike has been responsive and kind. His crew was always very nice and cleaned up after themselves. We hated to have to do such extensive and costly repairs, but we feel so much better knowing that the work was done correctly and that we were treated well. "
"We learned of Hoosier Permanent Coatings through their advertising. We liked the idea of not having to paint again for as long as we own the home and the warranty is transferrable. The paint/stain colors of our house were custom modified several years ago. Believing they would not have a similar color in the color palette to chose from, they indicated they could custom color from leftover paint and stain. On the day of the painting I immediately noticed the siding paint was not the correct color. Fortunately, I was home and stopped the work. Management arrived and concurred the paint wasn't correct. It took approximately 3 weeks to adjust the color because the paint is manufactured in the eastern part of the country. Upon the second attempt, again, I immediately noticed the color still wasn't correct, however, it was improved. Because colder temperatures were fast approaching, I decided to approve the color. In retrospect, I should have looked at their standard colors first before deciding to go custom. The company uses painting subcontractors and it's doubtful all of them are legal citizens, albeit, we didn't inquire in advance. Overall, we are quite satisfied with the paint and the application. The painters could have been a little neater with the clean-up, I had to do a lot of the clean-up myself (caulking debris, masking tape, etc.). The painting job itself, however, is very good. An added benefit which Hoosier Coatings didn't mention, we believe the paint has an R factor. This past winter our home maintained a 4 degree higher temperature without adjusting the thermostat. Their competitor advertises the R factor so that is how I discovered the reason. All winter we kept wondering why our house was warmer. We have received numerous compliments on how nice our house looks! "

The longest part of building a custom home is the design phase. It takes multiple professionals and a ton of work to bring your vision for your dream home to life while sticking to a homebuilding budget and also ensuring everything is built to code. Expect the design phase for a custom home build to take six months to a year.
There are several different steps in the pole barn building process. First, you’ll need construction plans, which you’ll use to obtain permits. Then, you can clear the land so it’s suitable for building and installing the foundation. Your contractor will frame the barn using large poles, then rough in the plumbing and electricity (if your barn has those elements) before finishing the interior, adding siding, and installing the roof.
After that, they’ll finish up the electrical work and plumbing and add your windows and doors. You may have a few other finishing jobs to do like painting or waterproofing.
Professional remodelers streamline the process, manage permits, and handle renovations efficiently—significantly mitigating risk while maintaining standards.
The only real drawback to green building is that it’s more expensive up front, with per-square-foot prices sitting 33% higher than what you’d pay to build a traditional home. The higher cost is due to more expensive building materials and more labor to ensure every aspect of the home is as efficient as possible. However, green buildings often save money in the long run, so this is just a temporary downside.
Mid-century modern architecture was a popular home style throughout the U.S. from the 1950s to 1970s. Most homes feature a wide and symmetrical floor plan with low-sloped roofs and floor-to-ceiling windows. Its minimalism and balanced appearance are back on the home style scene, particularly when maximizing sunlight, airflow, and a blend with the home's natural surroundings.
