"If you want it done today, don't call John.  If you want it done to perfection then John's your guy.  Our home is over 30 years old and has had work done every 10 years or so.  John insisted that he needed to paint the walls with Kilz primer to cover old patches and remodeling.  He did a great job putting up the wall paper and in order that the job meet his standards he caulked the wall base.
