I’m a hardworking person who doesn’t like to leave projects half finished or looking sloppy, I can be a bit of a perfectionist. I’ve always fixed and built almost everything I needed myself and I take pride in being self sufficient. I’ve been an electrician for a year and half now and before that I was fabricating aerators for private residences. I have a wife and two children, so I can handle the chaos of a whole house remodel even if you decide to alter any details halfway through.

"He arrived removed the shower tub combine. Could not fit the new shower thru the bathroom door it was a one piece. He left and returned with a 3 piece shower install that was larger. He cut a hole in the floor to do plumbing. Place the shower base over the hole didn t replace the wood. My husband and I both weigh over 300 pounds base gives when we stand on it not safe. Since the shower was large no room for a cabinet. He didn t put a support wall at the end of the shower there is approximately a foot between the wall and the shower side. Shower doors don t shut there a crack not level. The shower unit doesn t seem to be seal down the seams and base. Than he use wooden sliding sliding to do the cover up the wall at the end of the shower and the roof of shower. Caulking is terrible not even or smooth. I placed the new wood floor over the old and didn t want to remove the toilet to put it down like I ask but finally did. The quarter round was square at the corners instead squared. He place quarter round around the base which been water proof material to prevent water going under the floor. The beam across the shower top is not covered I purchase the shower head and the floor and quarter round out of my pocket not included in 4339.00 price"

"They did a good job. She had to submit like a photo but my daughter had them work on the central are of the loft. The deal was for one room. She got a lot of good ideal from her and it was worth it for her. They were professional and I did not hear anything negative."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can remove a bathtub yourself if you have previous DIY experience and basic plumbing knowledge. You should have at least one other person help you if you approach this project as a DIY. However, hiring a plumber or bathroom remodeling pro can prevent accidental damage from demolition or water leakage.

You can put a structure under your bathtub for support. Many modern tubs come with a built-in support structure underneath. Almost any type of mortar or floor-leveling compound is acceptable for new bathtubs that don’t include a support structure.

You can also install spray foam under an existing bathtub to eliminate or reduce squeaking or sagging. However, spray foam isn’t rigid enough for primary tub support.

Of the two most common and affordable bathtub materials, acrylic is notably better. Though fiberglass is cheaper, it is also more prone to scratching, chipping, fading, and cracking. Acrylic holds up better to wear and tear, cleaning, and sun exposure; the slight cost increase is usually worth the increased longevity.

The reasons not to install flooring underneath a bathtub outweigh the benefits. A properly installed bathtub will keep water from reaching the unprotected subfloor underneath. Installing a tub on top of finished flooring can lead to damage and scratches to the new floor. Also, a small leak from a tub drain may be more difficult to notice if finished flooring impedes water drips.

Acrylic tubs are extremely durable and rarely chip or crack. Even when frequently used, tubs made with this material are largely resistant to damage. However, damage may occur as the tub ages. They can also crack from damage from heavy objects and cleaners or a lack of support.
