He was there exactly when he said he was going to be, did exactly what he said he was going to do, repaired what the previous flooring guy damaged, for exactly what he said it would cost. Stated that the wall needed to be dug up, pinned and removed. When we pointed out that the cracks were 1/32 wide and were not leaking, he just told us they would be. The second vendor did not have a problem with it and did not understand what the first guy was talking about. FYI. The water that caused us to remove the finished wall was caused by a service entrance that was installed incorrectly by the builder. Midamerica could have repaired the opening simply by removing an inch of silicone caulk around the water main and injecting closed cell foam. $39.00 tube of closed cell foam stopped the water. Much better than the thousands of dollars Midamerica wanted to fix it."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ia/davenport/midamerica-basement-systems-reviews-2172959.htm"},"position":9},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Molnar Construction","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"IL","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Randy F."},"reviewBody":"We contracted with Dan at the end of September 2013 to perform repairs to our seawall. Our lake fluctuates in height significantly during the year and we wanted the repairs done in the fall because the lake was low. In fact, in October of that year, the seawall was exposed all the way down and it would have been a perfect time to repair cracks that were in the seawall. Due to scheduling conflicts, Dan wasn't able to get us in in October and it got too cold in November to pour new concrete. Dan and I agreed that the work would have to wait until the spring. The problem with waiting is that the lake level went up a lot and the bottom foot of the seawall was now covered with water. Because I wanted the lower damage to the wall to be repaired, Dan had to modify his estimate to include building an abatement wall and applying an epoxy coating to the wall to fix the cracks. The water abatement wall was not in Dan's wheelhouse and ended up not working at all, so we weren't able to get the lower cracks fixed. Dan poured us a very nice cap to the seawall and widened it so that it could be walked on. He also created a notch for our pier to be mounted in. He was able to fix a couple of heavily damaged spots above the water line and one significant crack in the seawall. The problem is with the cracks that he wasn't able to fix. Those cracks propagated up into the new cap almost immediately which is unfortunate. Overall, Dan has extremely good pricing and his flatwork looks excellent. I'm disappointed that the repairs didn't take place when the water level was low enough because it diminishes what would be an otherwise beautiful job. The quality mark is really a B+ or an A-, but Angie's List doesn't allow those. We have patio and driveway work that we will definitely have Dan do when the time comes, so this overall B review isn't really as negative as it might seem. I think dealing with the water was probably too much for Dan, but everything else is fine. I would recommend Molnar Construction for your concrete work. I hired Altered Surfaces to stain and seal my concrete basement floor. He came out in May and said he'd do the floor for $2500. A few weeks after the floor was done, it started cracking, peeling and bubbling. I contacted Altered Surfaces regarding the problem. He said it sounded like MVT...

FAQs for basement leak repair projects in Walnut, IL
The cost to finish a basement is $18,400 for the average homeowner. However, this cost could be as little as $2,800 or as much as $34,500, depending on the basement size and the materials needed. If your basement is already outfitted with electrical and plumbing, expect the cost to fall on the lower end.
For example, the drywall cost for this project averages around $1,750, but other features, like hiring a plumber, cost between $45 and $200 per hour.
The cost to remodel a basement is between $12,100 and $33,400 for the average homeowner. The price you pay can be as little as $3,500 or as much as $50,200, depending on the size and condition of your basement and the type of remodel you're doing.
If you're doing a simple project like adding a home office to your basement, you can expect to pay anywhere from $500 to $3,000. However, if you're adding a bathroom, which is an extensive project, you can expect to pay between $6,600 to $16,500.
Damp proofing and waterproofing are both methods to help keep your basement dry. Damp proofing keeps soil moisture from entering your basement, which is helpful since your basement is underground. Waterproofing, however, keeps both soil moisture and liquid water out of the basement, which is essential, especially if you live in a wet environment. Because it’s more protective, waterproofing typically costs more than damp proofing.
Although homeowners often use the terms basement remodeling and basement finishing interchangeably, they are quite different terms.
Finishing a basement is the process of taking a basement space that is not habitable and adding elements to make it usable. This includes adding plumbing, flooring, and insulation.
Remodeling a basement means taking an already existing finished basement and changing it, often by adding or removing walls, adding plumbing, or changing the existing flooring.
The cost of basement waterproofing is $4,950 for the average homeowner. However, you could end up paying between $600 and $14,000, depending on factors like basement size, waterproofing method, and the region you live in.
If you live in an area with heavy rainfall, you might be paying more for waterproofing than if you lived somewhere drier since waterproofing contractors would be in high demand. Likewise, a 500-foot basement costs between $2,500and $5,000 to waterproof, but that price rises significantly for a larger basement.
