"Very Pleased with Samuel for his work removing a tall Ash Tree from my yard. Ash bores killed the tree as was shown to me & Samuel worked hard all day and stacked the cords of wood, from large limbs to small limbs; in a neat organized pile near my shed. (I had/have further use for for the wood to be made into shelving, etc.) I am very pleased with the quality of work performed! My yard was left clean as a whistle! I would recommend Samuel’s Tree removal service to ANYONE! He is very experienced and has the knowledge and great equipment to perform his job very efficiently!! Thank You Samuel!!"

Most trees can be successfully transplanted while they are young, but pines, walnuts, and some oak tree varieties are more difficult to move because their root systems grow deeper than most other trees. Also, trees adapted to sandy soil with wide root systems like beeches, willows, and aspens are harder to dig out because their roots spread much farther out from the trunk. You can use a chainsaw, but it won’t remove the entire stump or root ball and is not a recommended method. It takes quite a bit of physical work to achieve and will likely dull or ruin your chainsaw. Instead, consider using salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, stump grinding, or burning to kill a tree stump. These methods allow you to kill a stump using minimal machinery and physical exertion.

If it’s only a smaller branch that has died and you’re keeping an eye on the tree, it’s probably nothing to worry about. But if other nearby branches start dying off as well, or a very large branch dies, then you likely have a bigger problem. It’s time to watch for diseases and other problems and possibly get professional guidance on how to proceed.

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.

It depends on whether easiest means fastest or least challenging. If you have limited tools or experience, hollowing with a chisel and hammer is the easiest, although it won’t be the fastest approach. Using a chainsaw is much faster, but it comes with more safety risks, especially if you aren’t used to wielding one.
