"A few years ago we had Pedro seal coat our driveway, it turned out great. Then we had him start weekly lawn maintenance, fertilizing, etc. we have been totally thrilled with his services. We even had him remove some bushes from around our deck, I’m not sure how he did it, but he got them completely out. Very professional, very friendly, affordable, and really do a great job. Thanks for everything Pedro."

"Well worth the price. I had my driveway resurfaced. They were timely and finished the job quickly. They took care to ensure that there was no damage or asphalt spillover onto the garage structure and brick sidewalk and patio. My neighbors were so impressed they had them resurface their driveway too."

"I was not content with their scheduling. They told me they would come out the next day (which was great) around 2p and then called me at 8a the morning of to let me know they were going to be there in 15min. I guess better early than late but it was difficult for me to juggle around my schedule at that point because I have a full time job. That would be my only complaint. The work that was done was beautiful. And the price I was quoted was definitely reasonable. I also appreciate that the other 2 companies I had come out to quote me were telling me that their recommendation was to completely gut the entire driveway and replace the whole thing. Chris gave me his honest opinion on what I would need that would still last me another 20 years. After the work was finished, I saw he was telling me the truth and I was completely satisfied with their work."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Even with regular maintenance, most driveways don’t last much longer than 30 years. Alligator cracking is a clear warning sign that your driveway’s foundation is failing, and cracks that are deep and wide can let water in, causing more damage. Standing water is another red flag. If your driveway doesn’t drain properly, it’s going to degrade slowly. Finally, if you’re seeing dips or uneven patches, that’s a sign the base layer or soil is shifting. If these issues pop up, it’s time to replace your driveway.

This creates a risk for your driveway to fail after asphalt curing because it doesn't have a lasting bond with the surface. In order to get asphalt to perform as intended, it's necessary to prepare the dirt surface correctly first. The loose soil base under the new driveway must be compacted until it is stable enough to support the weight of the asphalt.

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

Costs range from $3 to $7 per square foot, depending on the area size and project scope.

Asphalt, which is stone mixed with tar, is the most common material for outdoor basketball courts because it’s so sturdy and versatile. However, you don't have to use it: another option is polymeric rubber, which has shock pads that can prevent injury. This option is a little more expensive, ranging between $16 and $25 per square foot.

Materials used for indoor basketball courts, such as hardwoods, aren’t really an option outdoors.
