"Brian Flanagan was very attentive and detailed in planning and scheduling the work.  He had a crew assigned and executed the work at teh first availabe day with clear weather.   The crew was quick, and neat, taking particular care of a number of plants that my neighbor had planted in the alley.  After a couple big rains, we noticed that the entire alley was not draining, and were concerned that perhaps there was just too much water for this solution.
Brian himself came out to see the drainage arrangement, and decided that the pipes needed to be covered in gravel, not sand.   He planned a new day to come back adn re-do the entire job.   Again, his team unplanted and replanted my neighbors foliage, excavated the tile, and re-seated and filled the alley.   They left the alley looking great, with neatly arranged course gravel against the foundation.   A few days later we had a storm with about 2 inches of rain in an hour, and there was no pooling whatsover. So for ensuring a satisfactory result, regardless of cost or inconvenience to himself, I give Brian the highest marks.
We found Brian as a recommendation of a well-known developer/realtor in the area, and I now know why he was highly recommended, he is an expert who takes his work very seriously, to the benefit of his customers."

"I was very pleased with the service Agape provided.  I used the special deal provided by Angie's List and Agape.  I informed Agape the leaves were down.  I could not even tell they had been here....there were no leaves left on the sidewalks or any other signs.  I could see the limb had been pruned and water at the end of my long drain.  Communication was fine and people were pleasant.  I will definitely ask them to come back in spring when the seedlings grow in the gutters. Way to go, Agape.

"I hired the company to do a make ready [clean up & prep] on a single apartment in a building which I own in the  town where I live. I needed the property to be cleaned up so I could rent it again.  I have been a landlord for over 20 years & hadn't found a vacated property in such a mess in all my years. They did the complete interior clean-up which took about five hours. And, the complete prep of the property. they took out all the trash & junk, and cleaned up all debris left in the yard. They did such a great job with that I decided to use them for the yard maintenance also. They cleaned all my flowerbeds & got them ready for spring, placed mulch & trimmed the shrubs and flowering trees. On the inside they made everything look brand new! Cleaning the walls, painting, cleaned the carpets & stripped & polished the wood floors...making them look brand new. The appliances that stayed were cleaned inside & out. They even remembered to get all the light fixtures clean for me. Dusted all window seals & doorways. Shine mopped all they tile floors. To top it all off they even gave the bathrooms a fresh clean look by putting a new caulk seal around the tubs, sinks & shower...which gave the bathrooms a fresh face. All in all I found it to be a very stress free pleasant experience. And, I will definitely call on them for the next project because if they could do so well with a nightmare like that I'm sure the less difficult will be equally affordable and easily handled. Everything just looked so nice when they were finished. Thanks, Green Earth

"Breathsafe did a wonderful job with installation! They worked fast and in some yucky weather too get our right on mitigation system installed! They are very fairly priced and you can tell that they don’t make it a goal to profit off of customers, but rather just make a living. VERY kid friendly couple, Lances wife played hide and seek with my 4 year old. 😂 I would bring them back for any project they are qualified to complete!!"

Greenhouses and Nurseries questions, answered by experts

Eco-friendly materials include sustainably-sourced woods, recycled metals, low-VOC paints, and non-toxic sealants, which reduce environmental impact. Using these in repairs promotes sustainability and can improve indoor air quality and overall building health.

Adding burnt charcoal to your garden beds and plant pots can yield several benefits, but there are risks involved, too. Charcoal, particularly biochar, can enhance soil structure, improve water drainage, and increase nutrient retention. When activated, charcoal provides key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, burnt charcoal, especially from briquettes, can inadvertently alter soil's pH levels and become hazardous to plants. Overall, there are better and less risky soil amendments available, such as vermiculite, perlite, or wood chips.

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

Minor fixes like patching leaks or repainting are DIY-friendly, but structural repairs require professional expertise.

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.
