"Highly recommend Neil. When we first met he arrived as a worker not a guy in a suit. He arrived when he said he would, he kept me advised of his work. He and his crew re-insulated the underside of my rental module home. He had only a crawl space to work in and I know it was very dirty work. When he found an additional problem he talked to me about it. The estimate he gave for the job was very fair. He is currently working on another estimate for repairing my deck and replacing a sliding glass door. If I could give him 10 stars I would. I am not related to him and never met him until he showed up to work up the estimate. If you need a job done Neil is your guy!!!"

"All of the people (salesman and workers) were very nice and easy to work with but there was a disconnect between them. The salesman obviously had never done this kind of work so some things he thought could be done actually wouldn't work. For example, in the kitchen wall, one of the biggest problems with cold intrusion comes from a covered over glass brick window. The workers were unable to fill behind the cabinet there because the drill would have broken the glass, so that will still be a spot of cold intrusion.
The other major problem of disconnect was a crawl space in a room addition. Apparently it is so shallow that no one can fit into half of it to spray. I can't believe the company doesn't have a remote camera they could have used to determine that. The end result is that only half of my crawlspace got the spray foam. They offered to cut a hole in the floor and try to do it that way or to dig around two sides of this room and spray the outside. I passed on those two solutions.
I waited more than three weeks for the salesman to get back to me with those possible solutions. I feel that was poor responsiveness and a lack of professionalism.

"Neil Umphress explained exactly how he would complete the installation of insulation in my attic including the type of material he would use. When a problem was encountered he discussed how it could be handled and left the decision to me. They worked all day with a lunch break Then another problem occurred and I thought they wouldn’t be able to finish in a day, but they pushed through, cleaned up and even insulated an area that was not in the contract just because it needed it. I have more work and will definitely call Neil Umphress to do it."

"Once they got here it didn't take long for them to blow in the foam insulation. They only had two guys and they were quick. The one blowing it in show me what he does and explained it to me. Very nice people."

"We had a different person who came out before them who was horrible and then I tried Crawlspace/Basement Waterproofing Solution because they were reasonably priced and they worked with me on scheduling their time so that they would be there when the electrician are there. They worked together with the electricians and were all done. They were wonderful. It was an all-day project but everybody worked together. Everybody showed up, everybody cooperated, and it was all done in one day with a big job. They were very good with the whole thing. The price was really good deal and all they have to do is seal from the outside to the inside. The biggest thing for us is that, they were here when everybody is here to do one thing. They are really good and we only had one problem but it was all filled up. This company gave exactly what we needed, showed up when they are supposed to, and did a great job. It was perfect. I would recommend right away to anybody before anybody else.  We were very impressed with them."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Popular wall textures include orange peel, knockdown, spray sand, and smooth finishes. Orange peel and knockdown are particularly common choices for drywall as they are simple and cost-effective. Orange peel texture has a lightly bumpy surface resembling the skin of an orange, while knockdown (sometimes called knockout) looks like a stucco finish with flattened high spots. In contrast, popcorn texture has fallen out of fashion, partly due to its past association with asbestos and a shift toward more restrained interior design styles.

You can put certain types of plaster over other types, but doing so isn't always the best idea. For example, putting a coat of gypsum over lime plaster is possible, but doing so will limit the lime plaster's breathability and potentially affect its performance.

Since cement plaster tends to leave a textured surface, no matter how much you smooth it, some people prefer to use gypsum plaster as a topcoat over cement plaster, creating a smoother surface.

There are a few ways to figure out if your walls are plaster or drywall, but the pushpin method is probably the easiest option. To try it, choose a part of your wall where you can insert a pushpin or thumbtack without leaving an obvious mark. If it goes in easily, you have drywall. But if the wall is tough to penetrate, that’s plaster.

Regularly in areas prone to moisture or high traffic to catch issues early.

The tool you use to sand plaster will depend on the size of the project. If you’re just working on a small section of your wall to get rid of an uneven spot on the surface, hand-sanding might work. However, for larger projects, a drywall sander can make a huge difference when it comes to both time and elbow grease—and an orbital sander can help for detailed areas such as around ceiling fans.
