"What a fantastic experience with the folks from Greenlink! Need more than 5 stars to show how well these fellows did on our attic insulation project. Noah came out a number of times to go over what I wanted and was very knowledgeable and kind to me to answer all my questions. The first day 4 of Greenlinks team came out and started in to remove all the old nasty insulation and reviewed and prepped the attic in the garage. Second day we had 4 more come out and added the fan in the bathroom and sealed the attic in the house. Now the temp outside was really nice during these 2 days. However it was around 110 to 120 degrees in these attics and the crew was up there doing the work completing all the needed sealing and fixes. Many people may not understand how much work and effort goes into a job like this but I use to do some of this many years ago and I know how tough this can be on a soul. These fellows spent a lot of time in the attics and when it comes to adding the blow-in insulation that's the grittiest part of the job. These guys were fantastic, zero complaining and actually were enjoying what they were doing! The crew chief for both days was Kevin and he knew what was needed to be done and who and what order things needed to be completed and keep the guys busy. Everyone of these guys was a joy to be around and would answer any and all of my questions. Honestly one of the very best crews I've ever been around. Once they were done they did a great job cleaning up and thanked me for the business. I wanted to thank Kevin, Jaylin, Carl, Calvin, Al, James, Noah, and CJ that we will now be much more comfortable going forward. And to thank that young gal in the office Olivia for standing outside the building to help this old guy find the office since I got lost. What a great bunch of people and a great job they did here, well done. Rick S. Rockford, IL."

"This company raises the bar for customer service! I hired them to clean my ductwork and my dryer vent. Dillon explained everything that was going to happen - so I felt that I knew what the plan was. He is a wonderful ambassador for the company! Both he and Steven were hard workers who efficiently got their jobs done. Every time they came into the house, they removed their shoes (even though I told them they didn t need to). Very nice! The prices were very reasonable and the before and after photos showed me the quality of their work. And the scheduling process was easy, with a reminder call the day before and a call when the technicians were on the way. I m very pleased with this crew and this company."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Set your house temperature between 55 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit while on vacation, depending on the season. If it’s winter, don’t go below 55 degrees. In the summer, the best AC temperature for energy savings is no higher than 85 degrees. You can save anywhere from 10% to 15% on your energy costs by adjusting the temperature while you’re away. If you have a smart thermostat, set up vacation modes for each season. On your way home, turn off vacation mode to allow the home to warm up or cool down before you arrive.

Yes, it’s best to turn off an AC unit that’s blowing hot air to prevent system damage and avoid expensive energy bills. If you let the AC continue running, it will put more strain on the condenser coil and compressor. Plus, if the AC is blowing hot air because of a refrigerant leak, it can also lead to a frozen evaporator coil.

This depends on the extent of the freezing. Some ACs only need an hour or two to thaw out, but others may need a full day to completely unfreeze. Once you turn off the system to let it unfreeze, check it periodically to make sure the drain pan doesn’t overflow. When you turn the system back on, keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn’t start freezing again.

You can air condition your Arizona room by extending your home’s existing HVAC system or adding a ductless mini-split system. Arizona rooms that have full windows rather than screens only are a better choice for air conditioning—screens will let the cold air out as fast as the air conditioner can make it.

AC drip pans last five to 20 years, depending on the material. Plastic AC drip pans last five to 10 years, while metal pans can last over 10 years. Plastic AC drip pans are vulnerable to cracking in response to temperature changes. Metal drip pans are prone to rusting over time, which can also lead to leaks.
