"They had the whole tree taken down within the afternoon. The tree was surrounded by power lines, which no other tree service could handle with the equipment they had. They pulled out the remaining roots that would've damaged our newly paved driveway . We also were very satisfied with their landscaping . Highly recommended! They will be the first to call if we need any work done."

"Ben and his crew were professional, on time, and very considerate of our specific needs. They removed two very large trees, trimmed another one, and ground out both tree stumps. They cleaned up our yard and removed all the debris. We would definitely use their services again."

"Wow! We had a huge maple tree behind our home hanging over the garage and half of the house. Jeremiah and his crew used a crane to get the tree out and away from our home safely! And the clean up was amazing. I have never seen a tree company as organized and put together like these guys! AMAZING! GREAT JOB!"

"Right Way Tree and Outdoor Services does a fantastic job. I had a pretty large branch come down in our back yard and their crew came out and were very professional. They did great job of getting the branch removed and cleaning up afterwards. You can’t even tell that a massive tree branch had fallen down by the time they were done. If I could give six stars I would. 10/10 highly recommend."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The cost of trees varies massively based on the size of the tree and the species. A small Colorado spruce can cost as little as $30, but a golden rain tree of the same size can cost $90. Large trees can cost $1,500 or more, depending on their species and height.

You will know that an oak tree needs to be removed when you see vertical cracks or dead branch stubs, which indicate internal decay. Other signs include trunk rot near the base of the tree and sprouts or small branches coming from the trunk.

A chainsaw is the best tool to cut down a tree, but you may also use a handsaw or ax. You may also want to use a lopper or pole saw to remove limbs before cutting down the tree. Wear chainsaw chaps and protective gear, including eyewear and earplugs if you use a chainsaw. Again, if you’re unsure about how to use this tool, this project may be one to skip.

While there is a lot of debate about whether boiling water is strong enough to kill tree roots, it is not best to remove the roots from large, old trees. You may be able to weaken young roots enough to remove them manually, but boiling water will likely not do the trick for large root systems.

Most experts recommend removing a tree that has sustained more than 25% loss in the limbs, trunk, or circumference of the bark. Doing an initial trimming of damaged and dangling branches, but then waiting a few days of monitoring to decide how much more you might need to cut can help you better assess the total damage to the tree. However, consulting a tree maintenance pro to make this determination the best course of action before removing a tree.
