"This was more than putting a new deck & pergola on. We had a glass sunroom that they removed as well. I was so impressed with the care they took to not break any of the glass. Then came the beautiful new deck! They explained everything that they would be doing & gave me wonderful choices of materials. They even helped me put in a permanent flag pole in my yard! I could not be happier with how easy Kyle, Dave & Chris were to work with, the quality of the materials and how absolutely gorgeous our new deck and pergola are. I highly recommend them."

Brady is the best you'll ever find for home remodeling projects.
Showed up on time. Took the time to make ever job right.
Projects were worked on over a number of months, one at a time.

The best and most honest tradesmen I've ever found.
We moved to Texas in January of 2014.  We whish Brady could have come with us.
I've found some good (and bad) people to work on the Texas home.  But no one who comes close to the quality of work done by Brady Brower.

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

A covered deck can be a good investment that increases your home value—especially if you live in a hot region with a lot of sun. A covering over the deck means you can get more use out of it, even on the hottest summer days. With a permanent deck covering, you can even add ceiling fans to help cool down your deck for added comfort.

A deck is typically attached to a house and accessed via the back door. Decks are usually constructed from wood or composite materials. A terrace, on the other hand, is a raised platform that can be attached to or detached from the house and is typically made from a hard-paved material, such as paving stones. Terraces can be built on the ground or on the roof of a home.

Deck skirting shouldn’t touch the ground, especially if you have a wood deck, which is vulnerable to moisture. Ideally, you should leave at least 3/4 of an inch of space between the deck skirting and the ground for more ventilation. Pros also recommend that you incorporate about 1 square foot of space for ventilation for the underside of the deck to every 150 square feet of decking. Proper ventilation prevents mold growth and rot that can damage your deck.

Some elevated decks require stairs that lead to the ground level per the local fire codes in some municipalities. In other regions, a staircase is an optional feature that can increase accessibility and convenience for homeowners who want ground-level access to their deck. Additionally, a staircase is necessary if your home doesn't have an existing door leading to the deck.

Yes, adding railing to a deck is a great way to improve safety and your home’s aesthetic appeal. Railings can be constructed from wood, metal, or composite, and there are plenty of choices regarding design and style. Always consult local building codes before starting any building project—there are often requirements regarding spacing and height that can differ slightly from place to place.
