"Jose the owner, and his assistant Jesus were both highly skilled having over 20 years of drywalling experience. They were both very personable and listen to me and paid special care for all of my particular concerns. I had the drywall replaced in my living room. Understanding that drywall is a very dusty process I was concerned. Jose assured me that he could keep the dust escaping from the workspace area to the minimum possible degree and he delivered on that assurance. His work was timely and he's kept to the schedule and cleaned up nicely before leaving. Would highly recommend hiring him for your drywalling needs."

Customers say: Quick response

"Precision Painting worked in our 100 year old house for over 2 weeks and completely painted the interior 2 floors. They had to make repairs to the walls and ceilings and cover up our old dark paint colors. They accommodated us living in the house while they did the work by getting done as quickly as possible, they worked seven days a week. We are very happy with what they did Fernando was very easy to work with."

"The team was very responsive in assisting the removal of a silver maple in my back yard. Came out and quoted the opportunity within a couple days of engaging them on the Home Advisor platform. After moving forward with the bid, the continued to provide communication even through a couple reschedules due to weather. The completion of the project was smooth and they left the back yard in great shape. Iâ d recommend All Service Calls to my friends and family members."

"I needed some drywall work done and repainting after an electrician installed outlets above my fireplace. Also had a large paint crack in the corner of the wall. Additionally had some vent covers that wouldn’t screw in left from the previous homeowner. Garcia’s repairs got it all done for me like never even happened. Got the paint matched at Sherwin-Williams Paint Store in Oak Forest. Can’t tell the difference whatsoever of this wall and surrounding walls, looks identical. Highly recommend Sherwin-Williams emerald paint. There was no smell whatsoever from it and the quality is fabulous. So pleased with all the work they did today and I definitely will be hiring them again for future projects. They cleaned up very well before leaving as well. Thank you guys so much for everything."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

In many cases, installing new drywall will boost your home value. Replacing old, damaged, cracked, or wavy drywall is a great way to improve the look and feel of your home, as new drywall installed by a professional shouldn’t have any imperfections. Additionally, removing old drywall means you’ll have open walls, so you can install new insulation and address exposed issues with plumbing and electrical systems running behind the walls. All of these fixes will also add to your home’s value.

Vinegar and bleach are effective options for removing mold from drywall. Vinegar is a better choice if you have a smaller mold issue while bleach is best if you have a larger mold problem. If the area you're cleaning has limited ventilation, using vinegar would be a better option. In that case, you could mix vinegar with baking soda to remove more stubborn mold growth.

Yes, you can speed up the time it takes for plaster to dry, but it's important to do so carefully to avoid issues like cracking or crumbling. Proper ventilation is key; open a window or use a fan to circulate air in the room. Heat can also accelerate drying, but be cautious, as too much heat can cause the plaster to dry too quickly and crack. Check the plaster's packaging for the recommended drying temperature and set the room's thermostat accordingly. While managing humidity is important, avoid using a dehumidifier, which can remove moisture too aggressively and result in crumbly plaster.

The short answer is yes, a sagging plaster ceiling is dangerous. Sagging plaster on a wall is something you should fix immediately, but it isn’t a major concern. If the same type of sagging occurs on a ceiling, however, you could be in danger of your ceiling falling in large chunks. When plaster sags, it loses its strength and ability to hold itself up. The bonds that hold it together are strong, though, so if a sagging area falls, it will take large pieces down with it.

Whether to repair or replace water-damaged plaster depends on the scale of the damage. For small, limited areas, you can often perform a repair yourself. If you choose to paint over small patches, ensure the surface is completely dry and apply a coat of antifungal primer first to prevent mold growth. However, simply painting or plastering over the damage is only a temporary solution that doesn't address the core problem. For more extensive or long-term damage, the plaster may be compromised, and there is a risk of mold. In these cases, it is recommended to remove the damaged section of plasterboard and replace it. You may consider hiring a professional for the repair, and it's worth noting that water damage is often covered by home insurance.
