"I had wood floors installed upstairs last year and I loved them so much that I wanted the same on the first floor.. Dayton, the sales rep, did a great job listening to my request. I hadn’t planned to make a purchase, but she gave me such a great price that I moved forward and will have my floors installed in August.."

"John and his professional crew went far beyond meeting expectations. During the floor preparations, they excavated and repatched a decayed section of my footing and a y shaped crack in my flooring with professional lasting filler. During cabinet installation, Garage Experts not only installed the cabinets precisely to fit uneven walls, but provided at no extra cost several rows of add on slat wall tiers to better accommodate my wall hanging tools and equipment. John even designed a special slat to properly hang my extension ladder near the ground. Finally he installed a unique bike rack enabling my wife to load and unload her two wheeler without lifting bike. Service was courteous, thorough and on schedule. Could nt ask for a better job! Impervious or vitreous tile and vinyl flooring work best for the kitchen. These surfaces are non-porous (or have a very low porosity) that can stand up against spills, splashes, and plumbing leaks. Some natural stones are also a good fit, but keep porosity in mind. You may need to seal them to avoid stains and water damage to the subfloor.

A 65-oz. carpet is good, and in many cases, it indicates a premium carpet. Most carpets for homes should fall in the range of 40 to 60 ounces for face weight. If a carpet has a 65-oz. face weight, it is likely more durable and long-lasting than a similar carpet with a lower face weight. Carpet face weight is just one factor in determining a carpet’s quality.

It’s better to lift and set down furniture; sliding it across the floor is more likely to cause damage to both the floor and the furniture itself. For very heavy items, consider using a dolly with rubber wheels. It is possible to purchase sliders designed specifically for gliding furniture across floors, but you still risk causing permanent damage to flooring if you use them.

Not all attic floors are created equal—size, layout, and square footage often vary. The amount of weight an attic floor can hold depends on several factors including the joist size and position, any structural supports or subfloors, and the original intent of the attic design. Without structural reinforcement, your floor might only be able to support about 10 pounds per square foot of floor load before collapsing.

Yes, you can technically make a crawl space liveable, but the only way to do so is by converting it into a basement. While some crawl spaces are big enough to walk through and store large items, they lack appropriate insulation and space to be liveable.
