He also found she’d been nursing and captured two kits in the crawl space. He told me to tell him if I heard anymore sounds which I did when he returned the following day. He captured two more kits and told me to call him again if I heard any more sounds. There weren’t any more and I was impressed that he still called to follow up. I was completely satisfied with his humane methods of removing the animals from my property."

Diatomaceous earth is a non-toxic powder application that creates barriers that insects can’t pass through. Some pest control companies offer liquid nitrogen treatments to freeze out termites without using pesticides. Some chemical treatments are safer to use around plants, water, and wildlife than others. Bait stations are generally less damaging to the environment than sprayed termiticides.

Professional treatments can be immediate but may require follow-up for complete effectiveness, lasting several weeks.

The number of treatments will depend on the level of infestation. With small infestations, a single treatment may be all you need, but larger or severe infestations will require several treatments. For large infestations, it can take two to eight weeks to rid the roaches completely and up to six months for severe cases.

To perform the white sock test, simply put on a pair of long white socks and drag your feet along the carpets in your home. Fleas will gravitate to the heat created by your socks. The water and lamp test involves placing a bowl of water on the floor and shining a light over it. Fleas will then be attracted to the light and land in the bowl of water.

Not necessarily. If you see a swarm of flying insects, it could be flying ants or termites, but not always both. However, since these winged pests are attracted to moist and rotting wood, there’s a chance that both species are present at the same time.
