I have been a Licensed Plumber for 35 years and we have been in business as Birch Plumbing for over 23 years, specializing in solving plumbing issues. Licensed in Plumbing, Back-flow Inspections, Contractors, and Gas Piping. We charge a $50.00 trip fee for normal working hours M-F 8 A.M.-5 P.M. & $75.00 trip fee for emergency services after hours, non scheduled weekends and holidays. Our hourly rate is $100.00 per hour M-F 8 A.M.-5 P.M. & $150.00 per hour for emergency service after hours, non scheduled Saturdays and $200.00 per hour for Sundays and holidays. Clear Water Inspections run $50.00 per normal residence. Back-flow Inspections run $100.00 per valve. Remodels are priced out as a bid, or time & material. "Our sump pump was running almost continuously for weeks, and listening closely by the water meter we knew that the main water line coming from the city was leaking. We got proposals from more than one contractor and selected Pearson because I liked their confidence and their proposed solution of how they would install a new main water line. They were a bit higher in price than others but I went with them. They did an outstanding job, with minimal excavation near the street, and zero mess with our landscaping as well as inside our home where the line meets the meter. The workers were professional, courteous and efficient. Our water was only turned off for under 3 hours, and the entire job including back fill of the excavation was about four and a half hours. I will absolutely be using Pearson for any and all plumbing issues in the future."

MidAmerica Basement Systems is your premier locally owned and operated company that specializes in foundation repair, basement waterproofing, crawl space repair, concrete leveling, and radon mitigation.

"Salesman that we were to replace dry wall. Later learned we were to have it removed. Attempts to reach supervisors and owners resulted in zero until time to do installation. Gave $1300+ down. Note: this went to the salesman, not to MABS. Then salesman stated $12,000 more if MABS removed the dry wall. Paid salesman and his friend to remove it but didn't do all of it! Sent certified letters to Cedar Rapids address after we got no verbal responses to phone calls. Later learned they receive no mail there, only in Davenport. Were to have GFI outlet placed at far end of basement. 3 electricians said not possible. Also discharge was to be underground to rear of yard which we thought meant to back! House sits on clay. Was to discharge under ground out 10 feet from house. Canceled installation and have found that other basement waterproofing companies do not require 2.5 feet of dry wall removed: only baseboard. Cost was same as MABS. Now we must pay to have drywall installed after the waterproofing is completed."

"They charged me $917 for replacing the inducer motor. I had to call three times for a break down of cost of parts and labor. They said the cost for the motor was $725, and labor was $192. They also charge a $80 fee for coming out. This fee is waved if they do the work. However, the waver was probably added to the cost of the motor. I checked on line for the cost of the motor. It was less than a $100. That is the most I have paid for any kind of service like that. They are very crooked. I will never use them again.This is the first time I have ever written a negative review about a company."
