I got vague blurb of the problem and my mom saying he said he broke something on the unit!? Took 3 days and me calling office twice before tech finally called me! And NOWHERE on the paperwork does it state that HE caused more damage to the unit than the original problem!"

As you can imagine, the difference between soft washing and pressure washing is the amount of pressure applied in the cleaning process. Soft washing is a gentler method that uses a low-pressure nozzle and is safe for fragile paint and masonry. Because it’s not as aggressive as pressure washing, you need to use a cleaning solution when soft washing.

If you’re using water pressure above 2,000 PSI, you should wear a full face shield—at 4,000 PSI, a water jet can easily slice through skin. Always wear heavy-duty, waterproof gloves and rubber boots with metatarsal guards. If you’re working with hot water, make sure your gloves are insulated.

Use of harnesses and ladders ensures safe roof access.

While some pressure washers, when used at lower settings, are ok to use on tires, we suggest proceeding with caution. While the high pressure alone won’t cause damage to your tires, pressure washers emit high-frequency pulsations that can damage the tires’ sidewall cords. Using a medium-bristle brush and soapy water is a better bet if you want to keep your tires in tip-top shape.

Whether or not you need to winterize your pressure washer will largely depend on where you’re able to store it. For example, if you have somewhere relatively warm to keep it, you won’t need to fill the water pump with antifreeze because there will be no risk of freezing in the first place. However, emptying the gas chamber and refreshing the oil is good to do beforehand, regardless of what storage conditions are available to you.
