I am a jack of trades independent contractor/ handyman with 10+ years experience. I am not a licensed plumber, licensed electrician, or licensed roofer. With that said it's easier to just tell you the things that I don't do. I do not do drain work, I do not replace electrical lines or panel boxes, I do not replace plumbing lines which includes water and gas, and I do not replace roofs. Aside from that I can do everything else, and have the tools to do so.
"First time hiring Kitchen and Bath Specialties and working with Joe Laverdiere. He also came over initially to quote a price and then returned to look over the template, which needed adjustment and a new template created. He wanted to ensure that the countertop would be the correct length. He is very knowledge and scheduled our installation for late this week and completed the installation today. He did run into an issue (not of his doing) and was able to handle it. He communicated very clearly to us what we needed to know. We will hire him to install the tiling as well. I highly recommend him."
It went fine. Dave came to Peoria to do our job and did a very good job on the doors. I was not the supervisor but was told everything was done according to the condo boards liking and that right there tells me the most because we have some board members who expect high quality work and they got it . Dave the owner is someone who will not accept any work associated with his company AOM or his name be anything but top of the line. As I said before he is very good at what he does . He came here to refinish the entrance way on the front of the our building Chateau Touraine. He sanded off all the old stuff and put new stain and sealer on the doors and spruced up the wood areas around and above the main doors. The whole area is now back to what it use to be. I am not sure when the doors were installed but I know they are back to looking almost new again. I guessed that the doors are about 12-15 years old. Like I said before Dave and his employees are always there to please and have hit a home run with us again. I am sure that I will be hiring AOM again to do more work in my condo and I am sure the condo board will be doing the same. If you need a company that does many different things then give AOM a call and see what you think.

"The CHW Tech was unable to connect the air condition to the Nest thermostat because it was not registering but he was able to provide us with cool air until the previous HVAC company was able to come and fix the system the next day. I had to pay the CHW Tech for the entire service but was reimbursed by the original company that installed the furnace because they knew that this was their error."
"They subcontracted the work. Initial wallpaper removal was by local high school kids and was very slow. Then one college kid who was even slower. They finally brought in their pro who did as much removal in one day as the others did in a week. Needless to say, the entire project finished late and missed a critical date. The painters were very good where they painted except didn't seem to understand what to paint - I would keep pointing out areas out and sometimes they would include the area and sometimes they wouldn't. Eventually a foreman got them to mostly meet the contract but it wasted time and caused me stress. I felt like I was the foreman or contractor when I just wanted to write the check and have it done well and on time. Sadly it wasn't done on time so all my furniture and electronics arrived before the work was done and ended up covered in drywall dust. I also paid to have the woodwork cleaned and the wall plates matched throughout the house. Both those were only half done. They claimed woodwork just means window trim whereas I meant it to include all the wood. I also had to go to the hardware store and buy and install a bunch of wall plates (which was not a big deal except I had paid them to do that.) They also asked me to pay extra to clean up afterwards - I don't know of any business who does any job and then doesn't clean up after themselves. I believe they have a good reputation, but if you use them make sure the contract specificies no subcontracting and be sure you and they agree on what is and isn't included in the work. "
"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

Carpenter ants don’t eat wood. It’s a common misconception because many kinds of termites eat wood as well as live inside it. Carpenter ants, however, are omnivores and only chew into wood to create pathways and nests, discarding the chewed wood as frass which is a major indicator of a carpenter ant problem. They prefer to eat smaller insects, sweet things like spilled honey, and sources of protein like pet food.
Using audio and visual methods to discourage birds might work initially, but birds tend to acclimate to them over time. While chemical deterrents can show some effectiveness, their results can be inconsistent. Some may dissipate too quickly, and there's a risk they might cause unintended damage to your surroundings. Additionally, birds might become immune or resistant to the impact of such treatments.
You’ll find groundhogs are most active during the morning hours and late afternoon, but they want to avoid humans at all costs. If you do set a trap, you can set it out the night before so it’s waiting on them the next morning, and try to remove any human scent when setting it out.
It takes a few weeks to get rid of roaches in the kitchen for a small infestation, as the cockroaches will need to take the bait back to their nest to infect the others. For larger infestation, you may need to schedule multiple professional treatments, which could take several weeks or up to 6 months to get rid of the roaches fully.
Technically, yes, chinch bugs can fly. However you won’t usually see them in flight. Chinch bugs like to stick close to the ground and they usually move around by hopping or crawling (which is why they can be hard to see). Since they don’t get much chance at flying, they’re pretty bad at it and only fly for short distances—like to nearby yards.
