"Responsive, fair pricing. Quality of installation could have been done a little better as rods were slightly crooked and they did not pull the wiring tout on top of house so not totally parallel to roof line."

"These installers will do a great job with the actually installation. In my case, I wanted to install my antenna's in the attic. After the installation, vhs (particularly PBS) signal did not come in. I followed up to see if an adjustment could be made to try to get pbs. The correspondence got into a couple of minor issues that we disagreed about, but the main point was that i couldn't get pbs. They offered to come install the antenna outside, which i turned down. I called PBS and gave them the antenna model installed. They told me that the problem was likely that the model was designed for UHF. I googled Antenna's Direct and talked to their tech support. They confirmed that the antenna I had was likely the issue with VHF but would be very good for UHF. They suggest that I add a VHF only antenna and a UHF/VHF combiner. They looked up my address and told me exactly where to place the VHF antenna. It took me an hour or so to set up the VHF antenna, run the cable and hook up the combiner. They also directed me to Amazon where I could buy the antenna and combiner I needed. IT WORKED GREAT! All the UHF & VHF channels I need and more. Bottom line is that this company is great on installation. The installer did a very good job and they adjusted my bill for a travel time question. However, they didn't know about the UHF/VHF issue that Antenna's Direct knew about immediately. I would recommend talking to tech support at Antenna's Direct before any installation to ensure the antennas are correct and follow up with Antenna's Direct before deciding on any adjustments or moving the antennas from your preferred location."

I am a jack of trades independent contractor/ handyman with 10+ years experience. I am not a licensed plumber, licensed electrician, or licensed roofer. With that said it's easier to just tell you the things that I don't do. I do not do drain work, I do not replace electrical lines or panel boxes, I do not replace plumbing lines which includes water and gas, and I do not replace roofs. Aside from that I can do everything else, and have the tools to do so.

Doorbell Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can install insulation over ductwork, and doing so can save you money. Without insulation, the HVAC unit must work harder to force warm or cool air around the home, and once the air reaches the vent, it may not be the correct temperature. Insulating HVAC ducts makes your system work more efficiently, saving you money on heating and cooling bills.

The most affordable way to insulate behind unfinished walls is to install fiberglass batts or rolls. These total around $0.75 per linear foot, with the width matching the gaps between standard studs perfectly. However, it’s important to consider the R-value of your insulation and the climate in your area, as fiberglass insulation isn’t the best in terms of preventing heat transfer. Plus, the most affordable option may cost more on electricity bills over time. The most affordable way to insulate behind finished walls is to leave them up and use blown-in insulation to avoid drywall replacement.

Reduces energy costs, improves comfort, and prevents ice dams in winter.

Insulating an unheated garage can still be worth it. For instance, insulating an attached garage can help with heat loss from your house in general, and it can also make it easier to store electronics in your garage without worrying about them being exposed to extreme temperatures.

If you use your detached garage as a workspace, insulation can still make a difference. Plus, you can use space heaters and a window unit AC to help condition the space while you work without installing heating.

It is usually possible to install insulation yourself, but it’s often better to hire an insulation professional. An experienced insulation pro can determine which type of insulation is best for your space and the R-value get the most value and comfort in your home. Certain types of insulation can cause skin, eye, and lung irritation, and a professional will have the equipment necessary to keep themselves safe and limit the effect on your indoor air quality after the installation. Certain types of insulation—like blown-in and loose-fill insulation—demand a professional for proper functionality and safe installation.
