"Bill Harris Tree Service is a first rate company. We spoke about the work I needed done and he gave me a fair price for the trimming I wanted to get done. The next day a major limb broke and the tree engulfed my house. Bill came out right away when I let him know. Of course the scope of work was much larger as we decided to take down the 60 year old Maple. Bill was extremely fair on the price revision. His small army showed up and took the tree of of the house with no further damage to the roof and deck. This huge tree was removed without any damage elsewhere. I will absolutely recommend Bill Harris Tree Service."

"ATRSTL did an excellent job! They came out when they said they would, trimmed our trees and removed a 7ft hedge. Their team had all the needed equipment and finished the job in a timely manner. All limbs, bushes and debris were cleaned up and taken with them for disposal. Highly recommend!!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Peach trees grow to be about 25 feet, so keep this in mind for pruning as well. If you plan to DIY, you’ll need to be comfortable working on a ladder. Without pruning, peach tree branches can sprawl nearly as wide as the tree grows tall, so make sure to plan pruning sessions at least once per year in the spring for controlled growth. And if you’re working on a ladder, be sure to follow all safety precautions, especially if you’ll be dealing with falling branches.

Professionals use assessments, strategic cuts, specialized equipment, and safety measures to ensure healthy growth or the safe removal of trees or shrubs.

The ideal depth of a tree notch depends on the tree, but it should usually be between 20% and 25% of the tree’s depth. However, if the tree is leaning towards the direction of the notch, it can be cut more shallowly—at as little as 10% of the depth. When the tree is leaning away from the direction it needs to be felled, you can cut deeper, closer to 30%.

Yes, cutting a tree's roots can cause it to fall, particularly if major support roots are severed. In extreme cases, trimming roots can affect the tree's structure and stability. Many crucial roots are located just below the soil's surface. If you make severe cuts to roots more than 2 inches in diameter, you risk impacting the tree's water flow and its ability to withstand severe winds or storms. Even cutting roots less than half an inch in diameter under or outside the tree's canopy can cut off its water supply, causing it to decline, die, and eventually topple.

Tree borers are difficult to control and remove once they make a home in your tree. However, with patience and determination, some methods can slow the damage or even eliminate the pests. But, once the damage is too much for the tree to handle, the only solution becomes removing it. Talk to a tree specialist early for the best chance at saving your tree.
