All work is done with written out, signed contracts so both parties know what will be completed and how it will be financed. Typically a job will have a deposit, which depends on the size of the job and divided up payments depending on the progress of the job. Remaining amount paid at completion.

"This company is not one I would use or recommend again. They replaced my roof 5 years ago. When I was getting quotes I wanted and asked for my entire roof replaced. The price was similar to other quotes I got and went with them. On my receipt it states very clearly complete roof replacement. Well 5 years later and I have leaking and apparently they only replaced the part of my roof where I have shingles. I have two windows that are flat with a black material on top. They went over the item list with me recently to prove they did not replace that, however my issue is I asked for my entire roof to be replaced. Since they were up there and working it would only make sense to do the entire thing. THey should have included that in the quote and I would have had it done. How am I suppose to know from an item list what is needed to replace what on my roof. That is an absolute ridiculous excuse and I would make sure you know exactly what you are getting with them. I missed out going with other companies would would have replaced 100% of my roof and not 95 % of it."

Decks and Porches questions, answered by experts

Aftercare includes routine cleaning, checking for water repellency, and promptly addressing any chips or peels, maintaining the deck's appearance and functionality.

Lattice should not touch the ground, as it creates a possibility for rot and a termite infestation. It’s best to leave a gap of 3 or 4 inches at the bottom for airflow and to keep the wood dry. You can add stones, bricks, or other decorative pieces to conceal the bottom of the lattice if desired.

When installing deck boards, screws are a better option than nails. For one, screws have more holding strength than nails, so they’re better at keeping your deck boards in place. Also, nails are more likely to pop out of the boards than screws, which can create a tripping or poking hazard on your deck.

Will pressure-treated wood rot? This wood could eventually suffer from rot, although it takes longer compared to untreated wood. Even though the chemicals applied to pressure-treated wood protect it, they eventually dissipate and leave the wood vulnerable. You can delay the appearance of rot in the treated wood by reducing its direct exposure to moisture and by painting it. Using fewer screws or nails in the wood—and thereby creating fewer holes in it—also delays the chances of rot forming.

Putting lattice under a deck will create a polished look that allows for air ventilation. You can also store items underneath as the lattice provides privacy and protection from the weather. You can also put lattice under a porch to create a polished look in the front of your house.
