"They had the whole tree taken down within the afternoon. The tree was surrounded by power lines, which no other tree service could handle with the equipment they had. They pulled out the remaining roots that would've damaged our newly paved driveway . We also were very satisfied with their landscaping . Highly recommended! They will be the first to call if we need any work done."

"We highly recommend Cache Bottoms Tree Services. Dylan and Brent trimmed five our trees to lift their canopy, and trim branches that were touching the roof of our residence, walls and sidewalks. They also cut down two large dead trees and grounded the stumps down below ground level with chips pulsed on top. Some of our trees were mature, very tall and large and required professional expertise to trim them in a manner that was healthy and balanced for the tree. Dylan and Brent demonstrated extraordinary persistence as unexpected challenges presented themselves. One of our dead trees was filled with water, another one had a extremely hard wood. Most remarkable was the determination of Dylan to continue the grinding of the stumps even under heavy rain until the job was done. A++ for the quality of the work, A++ for energy, determination, and courage, A++ for communications and friendliness. This is a company with high integrity. We highly recommend them."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The best way is to start controlling tree height long before it grows too large, via careful pruning through the years. But that’s not always possible. If a tree has become too high or too large, use selective pruning to remove the most troublesome branches, one by one, without topping the tree. Gently shaping a tree like this can, over time, correct problems. You can also find growth inhibitors to spray on a tree to stop it from growing too rapidly, but use these sparingly if at all.

You should prune ornamental trees once every other year after the fruit has matured and begun to drop. You should also prune out dead branches whenever you see them. Pruning too often can stimulate more growth, especially in faster growing varieties like Bradford pears.

Dutch elm disease can’t harm humans. In fact, according to Cal Fire, bark beetles aren’t even typically dangerous to trees unless that tree is already weakened. The problem comes when Dutch elm disease kills a tree. That tree is more at risk of falling and catching fire, which can pose a serious threat.

If you don’t cut down a dead, dying, or diseased tree, it can become a nesting place for pests like mosquitos, bees, beetles, wasps, fly larvae, and more. Some pests will live in the tree, while others will feed off the decaying wood. Unhealthy trees are also more likely to fall over, potentially injuring people and causing damage to your property.

Make sure the tree roots soak around a day before you dig the tree up for the transplant. Keep the roots wet while the tree is above ground. After the transplant is finished, provide consistent water every day for the first month or so. You don’t want to overwater the tree, but you do want to keep the roots wet so they can thrive in their new environment.
