Brooks Creek is a family-owned and operated company specializing in custom cedar fencing, decks, pergolas, arbors, and trellises. In addition, we also install high-quality aluminum and vinyl fencing along with composite and vinyl decking. For the builders and customers who want to "do-it-yourself" we offer custom beams, timbers, and reclaimed lumber. Our primary service region covers Central Illinois. We are a third generation fencing company with our roots tracing back to the early 1940's. Brooks Creek strives to offer the finest products at affordable prices.

"We have used Brook's Creek on two different fencing jobs. The first was an aluminum fence for our dog 40' x 100' in the back. The second was a cedar fence down the property line. The crew chief was the same on both jobs and he, as well as the workers, were very professional as well as working fast and continuously. They cleaned up after the job and helped with the dirt removed from the post holes. I highly recommend this company! I have recommended this company to 3 of the neighbors in our addition and all there have purchased fencing from them."

B and C Carpentry is a family owned business. We started our business in 1997 part time and began doing it full time in 2005. Our owner, Bobb, has professional experience in most facets of the carpentry industry. Bobb worked full time for over two decades for a few other contractors where he developed the skill and expertise that makes him a great leader for B and C Carpentry. We offer free estimates for most work. We do charge a one way trip charge for service related jobs. We currently do not bid on jobs over a certain size due to having limited man power available. Call with the project you have in mind and we will gladly assess over the phone whether it is a job we can accommodate. Most jobs require an up front deposit and final payment upon completion. If the payment schedule is other than that you will be informed up front before the paperwork is signed.

While power washing isn't a requirement before you stain a fence, it can make the job much easier and faster while reducing manual labor requirements. The stain will not work if the wood is full of dirt and dust, so power washing, sometimes called pressure washing, is a fast and effective way to prepare the wood for staining. Remember that you need to stain or repaint relatively soon after the wood has dried so that there isn’t time for dust and dirt to build up again. 

The height of your garden fence depends on your goals and priorities. Do you need to keep rabbits out? Then you’ll need at least two feet in height to do so. Is it more of a privacy fence? For that, you’ll want to construct something at least 7 feet tall so that there’s little chance anyone can see over the fence. Put the new post into the same hole and backfill it with fast-setting concrete. Keep in mind, this won’t work well for metal posts.
