I successfully manage projects, schedules and demolition crews for construction contractors. The Millennial Coaching company exists for two purposes. The first is to provide quality work for all clients. The second is to give the opportunity to African American young men, to learn a skill, a trade and knowledge of running a business. Millennial Coaching is an experienced company in the demolition of residential homes and commercial buildings. We remove ceilings, walls, floors, electrical, mechanical and plumbing. We remove all nails and screws from studs and floors in preparation of new work.

Home Building questions, answered by experts

Construction typically takes 1-3 weeks, depending on the project’s scope and customization.

No, tiny houses don’t have to have wheels. However, if you plan on traveling with your tiny house and want to use it as a transportation method, it’s a good idea to buy a tiny house with wheels or put wheels on one. If you plan to stay put and live full-time in your tiny house, wheels aren’t necessary.

Most cottages are around 1,000 square feet, making them smaller than most other styles. However, cottages are defined more by their decor and architectural focus on simplicity, functionality, and a connection to nature than they are by a rigid square footage or floor plan. While cottages are defined more by their charm and appearance than size, the smaller footprint does help maximize the comfort and charm, and it keeps the focus on connection to nature and family.

The average cost to build a modular home is around $270,000, and most modular homes total between $180,000 and $360,000. Of course, this price varies significantly by location, and the price tends to follow the cost of living in the area. There are quite a few other factors at play that can affect your pricing, including the following:

  • Number of bedrooms and bathrooms

  • Site preparation, including land clearing and leveling

  • Type of foundation

  • Utility connections

  • Cost of building permits

Typically, architects do not build homes in a hands-on sense of doing the actual framing, roofing, or other building. Architects usually do not have the training and experience to build the homes they design. An architect would need to know how to do the specific trades required to build a house, which is possible but not a common practice. A general contractor or homebuilder typically oversees the actual details of building the house that the architect designs.
