"If zero stars were an option, this would be zero. They are clearly under new ownership/merger who has zero interest in good customer service. They overbooked their movers and showed up 3.5 hours late, making me miss my elevator window and getting another charge that new city refused to cover. Additionally, when we started calling them an hour past their original anticipated arrival time, they kept giving estimates of their arrival time that we now know were clearly unrealistic. Had they told us by 2pm (our original start time was 1pm) that they would not arrive until 4:30pm, I may have been able to completely shift my elevator time with my building and avoid the fee. However, at 2pm, they quoted 2:20 arrival, at 2:30pm, quoted a 3pm arrival and by 3:30pm they stopped giving estimates until letting us know they were on the way at 4pm. They kept blaming it on it being a busy move day (which is expected as May 1 is one of the busiest move days of the year) and the protest that closed down streets which I understand and may have accounted for some tardiness out of their control but it does not account for 3.5 hours late and their lack of honesty about arrival time. Had it really only been the protest and road closures as the cause, then they would have known that situation by 1pm/our booked start time and been able to give an honest assessment of arrival. We moved the majority of our stuff ourselves because we could not miss the elevator window. When I asked to speak to a manager before paying, they said a manager was not on duty because it was so late and so we had to pay the full price otherwise they would have to load all of our stuff back onto the truck and take it… The movers themselves were awesome and did the best they could in the situation. All 3 of them worked extremely hard. However, this company’s poor planning, lack of honesty and refusal to offer solutions or consolation, will make me never use this company again. The customer service is terrible, the owners have no interest in keeping up the great service of the New City name. Whatever you do, do not use them."
